201 Speedway’s Race for Glory Memorial Event: Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Legacy

As we continue preparing for the Race for Glory Memorial Event on Sunday, September 6th, everyone at 201 Speedway would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire 201 Nation for the overwhelming support, kind words, and encouragement surrounding this year’s memorial tribute.

The response from fans, racers, families, and supporters has been truly humbling. It is an incredible honor for our staff to help preserve the memories of those who helped make 201 Speedway such a special place. The passion, dedication, and love these individuals had for dirt track racing and for 201 Speedway continue to inspire us every day.

This event is about much more than racing. It is about remembering the people who built our traditions, supported our racers, filled the grandstands, and passed their love of racing down through generations. Their legacy lives on every time the green flag drops at 201 Speedway.

One of the most special moments of the evening will be the addition of new inductees into the East Kentucky/201 Speedway Hall of Fame. These individuals have made lasting contributions to racing in our region, and we look forward to celebrating their accomplishments during our Hall of Fame Induction and Memorial Ceremony immediately following the driver’s meeting.

Adding even more excitement to an already memorable night, fans will witness history as Crate Late Models go Topless at 201 Speedway for the very first time ever. The unique sight of topless Crate Late Models racing under the lights promises to be one of the most anticipated attractions of the season and is sure to provide an unforgettable experience for fans and drivers alike.

The Race for Glory Memorial Event will feature an action-packed night of racing including:
•KDRA Super Stock Series - $1,519 to Win
•Crate Late Models - $1,219 to Win
•UMP Modifieds - $1,019 to Win
•Sport Modifieds - $815 to Win
•Crown Vics - $615 to Win
•4-Cylinders - $515 to Win

Special thanks also goes to Phillip Slone of J&J Auto Repair & Sales in Hollybush, Kentucky, whose sponsorship is helping make the event even bigger. In loving memory of Jamie “Moe” Slone, additional bonus money has been added for competitors, including fast qualifier awards for the KDRA Super Stock Series and Crate Late Models. Through this support, Jamie’s memory continues to impact racers and fans alike.

The evening’s schedule begins with gates opening at 2:00 PM, driver registration from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and the Hall of Fame Induction and Memorial Ceremony following the driver’s meeting. The National Anthem will be performed by Reece Conley, with racing action getting underway shortly after.

Forever in Our Hearts: Honoring the Legacy of the 201 Speedway Family

As we gather for the 201 Speedway Memorial, we take time to reflect on the many cherished members of our racing family who are no longer with us. Their names, their stories, and their contributions helped shape not only this track, but the entire community that calls 201 Speedway home.

From drivers and crew members to family, friends, and loyal supporters, each person honored here left an unforgettable mark on generations of racers and fans. Their passion for dirt track racing, their dedication to this sport, and the memories they created will continue to live on every time the engines roar to life and the green flag waves.

While we remember those we have lost, we are equally grateful for those who continue to carry their legacy forward. To the drivers who compete week after week, the families who fill the grandstands, the sponsors who invest in our future, and the fans whose unwavering support has sustained 201 Speedway through the years, we extend our deepest appreciation.

The strength of 201 Speedway has always been its people. Through every victory, every challenge, and every season, this community has remained united by a shared love of racing and a commitment to one another. Because of that support, the memories of our legends will never fade.

Race for Glory: The Memorial Returns to 201 Speedway on September 6

After what seems like an eternity, the gates of 201 Speedway will once again swing open on Sunday, September 6th for one of the most meaningful events of the season, the Second Annual Race for Glory: The Memorial.

This special event is dedicated to honoring and remembering the loved ones we have lost over the years, bringing the racing community together for a night of competition, remembrance, and celebration of life.

Big Money on the Line
Speedway management has officially announced an exciting lineup of divisions and purses for the evening. In a special tribute to the late Jamie Slone, an additional $219 has been added to each feature 201 Speedway division payout, making every division’s winner’s share even more rewarding while honoring Jamie’s memory.

The payouts for September 6th will be:
•KDRA Super Stock Series - $1,519 to win
•Crate Late Models (Topless) - $1,219 to win
•UMP Modifieds - $1,019 to win
•Sport Mods - $815 to win
•4 Cylinders - $515 to win
•Crown Vics - $615 to win

Also Phillip Slone from J&J Auto is sponsoring $519 to the Crate Late Model Division and $119 for Fast Time in the KDRA Super Stock Series and Crate Late Models division

With strong payouts across every division and added significance behind the numbers, fans can expect some of the most competitive racing of the year.

2026 Hall of Fame Inductees to Be Revealed
In addition to an action-packed racing program, management has announced that Race for Glory: The Memorial will serve as the official event for introducing the 201 Speedway 2026 Hall of Fame Class.

The identities of the inductees are being kept under wraps as officials prepare a surprise announcement and special meet-and-greet with the newest Hall of Fame members during race night. It is sure to be a memorable moment for drivers, fans, and the entire 201 Speedway family.

Improvements Across the Facility
Although race cars have not taken to the track since July 4th, track officials have been far from idle.

Over the past several weeks, crews have been hard at work making numerous improvements to the facility, including:

•Installation of a brand-new clay racing surface
•Extensive work to Turns 1 and 2
•Addition of a backup generator
•General maintenance and upgrades throughout the property
Management noted that while significant progress has been made, the long-term vision for the speedway is still far from complete, with more improvements planned for the future.

Speedway officials are looking forward to welcoming back the entire 201 Nation for what promises to be an unforgettable night of racing, memories, and fellowship.

🏁 201 Speedway Memorial Event Update 🏁

201 Speedway will not be racing tonight, August 29, as this is a scheduled weekend off for the track.

Our next event is Sunday, September 6, during Labor Day weekend, as we continue preparations for the 2nd Annual Memorial Event.

The season started strong, and we were able to race every other weekend as planned. However, since the July 4th weekend, weather has caused several delays and cancellations. We are looking forward to getting back on track on September 6 for one of the most meaningful events of the year.

While official event details have not yet been fully released, management has confirmed that there will be no Super Late Models competing on September 6.

The following divisions are currently scheduled to compete:
• Crate Late Models
• UMP Modifieds
• Sport Modifieds
• Crown Vics
• Four Cylinders
• KDRA Super Stock Series (make-up event postponed earlier this season as part of the Jamie Slone Memorial)

🏆 201 Speedway Hall of Fame Inductions 🏆

In addition to a full night of racing and remembrance, the September 6 event will also feature the induction of five new members into the 201 Speedway Hall of Fame. These individuals have made a lasting impact on the history and success of 201 Speedway, and we look forward to honoring their contributions during this special evening. More information on this year's Hall of Fame class will be announced as it becomes available.

As management releases additional information throughout the week, we will be sure to pass it along to everyone.

This event is not just a memorial for a driver. It is a memorial for the entire 201 Speedway family, and we want everyone to be included.

We would love to hear about the loved ones you have lost. Whether it is a family member, friend, fellow race fan, or driver, we invite you to share a message in their honor. You are also welcome to post a photo, and we will do our best to include it in a special Facebook presentation we are putting together leading up to the event.

This memorial is about remembering those who helped shape our lives, our racing community, and our sport. We encourage everyone in the 201 Nation to take part and help us make this tribute as special as possible.
