Starting Monday, here's what eastside drivers need to know about Veterans and Arrowhead parkways:

⛔ Arrowhead Parkway closed east of Veterans Parkway to Hein Avenue for the next six weeks.

↔️ East/west detours at Madison, 26th and 41st streets.

↕️ North/south detours at Sycamore Avenue and Six Mile Road. Veterans Parkway is still open with lane closures.

• Dad looks like he gives excellent advice that always starts with “Back when I was your age…” and somehow involves duct tape.
• Mom has perfected the “pleasant smile while mentally screaming” face. You can tell she’s already thinking about what everyone’s eating for dinner and who’s going to complain about it.
• Oldest kid is 100% the family’s emotional support human. If there’s a crisis, she’s handling it. If there’s a rule, she’s enforcing it. If there’s drama, she predicted it.
• Littlest kid looks sweet, but that’s a decoy. That child wakes up choosing chaos and somehow still gets away with everything.
• This photo screams: “We are calm, coordinated, and loving,” but the truth is someone was bribed, someone was told to stand still one more time, and someone muttered “oh my gosh” under their breath.
• Everyone looks Pinterest-perfect, but five minutes later someone tripped, someone cried, and Dad said, “Well… that’s enough pictures.”
