SICARIO 3 IS FINALLY MOVING FORWARD — AND MATT GRAVER MAY BE HEADING BACK INTO THE SHADOWS.
After years of uncertainty, Josh Brolin has indicated that the long-awaited third Sicario movie is happening, giving fans new hope that one of modern cinema’s most intense crime-thriller franchises is finally ready to continue.
Brolin is expected to return as Matt Graver, the ruthless government operative whose missions have always existed in the dangerous gray area between law, politics, and survival.
The third film has previously been associated with the title Sicario: Capos, and production could begin soon if development continues moving forward.
Taylor Sheridan also remains connected to the franchise that he helped define with its brutal atmosphere, morally complicated characters, and uncompromising look at the war along the border.
Several major questions are still unanswered.
Will Benicio del Toro return as Alejandro?
Who will direct the next chapter?
And after everything that happened in Sicario: Day of the Soldado, what kind of mission could possibly bring these characters back together?
That uncertainty may be exactly what makes Sicario 3 so exciting.
The first two films never offered easy heroes or simple victories. Every mission came with consequences, every alliance carried risk, and every character operated in a world where the difference between justice and revenge became increasingly difficult to see.
If Matt Graver is truly returning, the next mission could be darker, more personal, and even more dangerous than anything before it.
After years of waiting, Sicario 3 finally feels closer than ever.
And if Graver and Alejandro cross paths again, this may be one reunion nobody survives unchanged.
