The 458 interior is completely removed and every component fully disassembled, it’s finally time to package everything up and send it off to for a proper refinishing, eliminating the infamous sticky-touch coating once and for all.

We’re going all in on this 2013 Ferrari 458.

The majority of the dashboard was already removed so we could address the failed soft-touch finish. With this much already disassembled, it made sense to take the extra step and remove the entire dashboard assembly. The reason? The leather on the forward dash pad had begun lifting at the base of the windshield—another chronic issue that plagues many Ferraris. Since the pad is secured to the dash frame from underneath, there’s no shortcut: the dashboard has to come out.

With the dash out, I can separate the trim from the frame and send it off to , who will work their magic and return it better than new.

Sometimes the right repair isn’t the easy repair. It’s the one done properly.

Like many modern Ferraris, one of the most common interior issues owners face is the degradation of the soft touch finish, infamously known as “sticky buttons.”

On top of that, leather shrinkage, lifting, and bubbling on interior trim is another chronic concern across the range.

This 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia is no exception.

The owner has chosen to fully address both issues, correcting the deteriorated soft touch and restoring the affected leather components to proper condition.

It’s a comprehensive, and in-depth undertaking, but these cars deserve to be brought back to the highest standard.

Sticky buttons are a well known issue on many Ferrari models, caused by the original soft-touch coatings breaking down over time.

This is what it takes to properly remove them from a Ferrari 458 Spider, full disassembly to access every affected component.

Now that everything’s out, the parts are headed to our friends for proper refinishing, a permanent solution to the problem.

We’re near the end of this 355 major service.

The engine is back in and running as it should and the ITB’s are synchronized. Just two items remain, install the deck lid, and to get it out on the road.
