BIGGEST IS BEST – The owner of a 2019 Chevy Silverado asked us to put the biggest screen he could possibly fit into it. We knew right away from experience that meant the RDVFL line, as their GM screen model 1923S measures a whopping 15.6 inches. When an owner wants big, we give him a massive upgrade. LOUDEST BASS – The bass-loving owner of a 2020 Infinity QX60 came to us and said, “give me the loudest bass package you guys have in stock.” We could only think of the Kicker SOLO X and the Kicker LX3000. The equipment didn’t disappoint. All of our displays were shaking when the owner tested his bass setup in front of the store. He is very happy with the results and now he wants to upgrade his speakers to match the bass. He will be back next payday. SOUNDS FOR THE ROAD – The owner of a 2010 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Limited came to us wanting a simple approach to improved sound on the road. We do lots of Harleys, so we had the answer, starting with a Sony DSX-M80 marine-grade radio. The customer opted not to add an amplifier for now, so we wired the additional set of front speakers in series with the existing front speakers. Even without an external amp, the built-in 100x4 power from the Sony deck delivered impressive results. This setup with the added speakers and Sony stereo delivers excellent sound without the need for an amplifier. We fabricated custom brackets to ensure the new speakers fit cleanly and securely – another example of going the extra mile. RUGGED CLASSIC – The owner of a 1990 Land Rover Defender asked us to hook him up with a system. Mostly everything on this vehicle needed to be custom built so we our skilled tech had a chance to work his magic! We installed a Sony XAVAX8500 in the dash, using an under-dash mount kit that the customer had wrapped to match the interior. To install a pair of Infinity Kappa KAPPA65COMP in the front doors, we made an awesome looking panel to mount the speakers. For the rear speakers we built custom boxes to hold a pair of KAPPA65CX. We ran the speakers off the Audio Control A1100.5 amp that also powers a JL Audio CP208LGW3V3 that we put right behind the seats to pack in plenty of bass but not get in the way. We also added a PCAMDPL backup camera and a PCAMBS1 front camera. Then came a Viper 3308V alarm system with the VSM550 GPS tracker. Two actuators meant the owner has power locks for the first time in 35 years. The system sounded great. The customer loved the way everything turned out. SHE BOUGHT A PROBLEM – The frustration showed when the new owner of a beautiful Hummer H3 came to us with a bad audio system. The previous owner had a bad wiring job, blown subwoofers and bad speakers. Our team recommended that we start fresh and tear out the old wiring, installing a quality 4G power kit. We used the Stinger Sk6641 to supply power to her amp. For the front speakers, we installed the Audio Control A65CS2 components with the Audio Control A65 coaxial for the rear. Changing the speakers to something a step above the rest fixed her mid-range problem. As for the bass, we recommended the Kicker 50SCWC122, pairing it with an Audio Control Epic 1000 amplifier.
