Thank you for your business and your friendship!

So, this past December I hit my 21st year in the car business. Time flies when you are having fun I guess. I got to thinking, that’s a lot of cars sold. So with as much accuracy as I could, I tried to determine how many vehicles that I have actually sold. As it turns out, at some point last year I sold my 3,000th vehicle.

Yep...that’s a lot of cars. That’s a lot of test drives, a lot of negotiating, a lot of writing, a lot of strikes of keys on the keyboard, a lot of license plates put on and taken off and so much more. But, more than anything, That’s a lot of friends.

When I started all of this back at L&B Lincoln Mercury in West Babylon on LI, I was a bit overwhelmed. So much product to learn and so much about sales to learn. I studied the vehicles hard and knew more about them than most of the old timers. But, I was struggling. I was told by my General Sales Manager Steve Augerie something very important. It’s not how much you know...It’s how much you care. Relax and make friends. You know the product. The rest is just about making friends. 3 month into my new career, I started to get it, and never looked back.

I have hundreds upon hundreds of pictures in my office of the customers and the cars I have helped them buy over the last 21 years. From time to time, I look through the pictures and can remember the conversations, the laughs and even sometimes the tears of each of them. One in particular I will never forget. An older couple came in. The husband was terminally ill and wanted to make sure his wife had a reliable vehicle for when he was gone. If that wasn’t enough to choke me up, the phone call soon after sure did.
