“Why don’t you just plug the computer in? It’ll tell you the problem.” 😏

Yeah…if only it worked that way.

You live and you learn and this is one problem that definitely won’t escape our memory again.

After chasing vacuum lines, testing components, and piecing everything together, we finally tracked it down to a failed vacuum storage reservoir with an internal check valve that had given up.

Once we stepped back and connected the dots, everything started making sense. Problem found. Problem solved. 👨‍🔧💯

Now this Excursion can get back to doing exactly what it was built for hauling a big family, pulling the boat or trailer, and keeping everybody nice and cool while getting out to the lake.

Sometimes the computer points you in a direction. The rest is understanding how the whole system actually works.🦉🔧

After the better part of a decade, we’re finally in the home stretch.

Our 1974 Ford Bronco is down to the last few details before it’s complete. Countless hours, late nights, problem solving, and an obsession with getting every detail right have all led to this moment.

By mid month it’ll be fully finished, professionally photographed, and headed to Bring a Trailer as a No Reserve auction. From there, the market decides where it belongs.

Whoever ends up with this Bronco won’t just be buying a classic they’ll be taking home years of craftsmanship and dedication. You can always write a check, but you can’t buy back the time that goes into building one the right way.

There are really only three ways to own a great Early Bronco:
- Buy one that’s already sorted.
- Pay a premium Bronco shop to build one.
- Or build one yourself… one swipe of the Amex at a time.

We’re excited to finally share the finished product with everyone.

1974 Ford Bronco
- 351w
- 949 miles
- AOD Trans
- Atlas 2-speed transfer case
- Currie 9” rear axle
- Alcantara & leather quilted interior

On today’s second episode of “Let’s Fix Some Ishhhh…” we made a trip out to Sherman Oaks to help a good friend get the family car back on the road.

The car had died the week before, so the battery was replaced in hopes of getting it started. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the issue, so they gave me a call.

I’m not a genie in a bottle, baby… but if you ask the right way honey…I’ll do a little diagnosing for you. 😂

After a quick on site diagnosis, we found the real culprit a failed starter. Swapped it out, turned the key, and she fired right up.

While we were there, we also noticed the battery wasn’t properly secured. It might seem like a small detail, but it’s one of those things that can become a big problem. A loose battery can shift, short against the hood or body, damage components, and create an unnecessary safety risk especially in a family vehicle.

So we fixed that too.

Reliable repairs aren’t just about getting a car running. They’re about making sure it’s safe when it leaves.

Now it’s back to the shop. More cars to fix, more problems to solve.
