Portal Assembly Series: Part 2 - Install bearings and seals!
In total we have 32 bearings, 12 seals, and 3 pins that need to be pressed in precisely and accurately for each individual customer set of portals.
For this effort, we designed custom fixturing for our hydraulic press that allows us to hold all the components flat and straight to ensure a consistent press fit and location for each of these items. We also have custom bearing press inserts to ensure we push the bearings in equally on all sides and to significantly speed up the process of installing when compared to standard sized bearing press plates from a kit.
Also Introducing our favorite tool in the shop, our electric over hydraulic press! This thing is amazing for pressing items quickly and repeatably.
