As Thanksgiving approaches next week, China California Heart Watch is excited to host two worldwide fundraising events this coming Sunday, November 22, 2015 in both Kunming, Yunnan Province, CHINA and Irvine, California, USA.

1) For residents in Kunming, CHINA: DT Bar in collaboration with China California Heart Watch will host a “Have a Heart Fundraiser” event this coming Sunday, November 22nd from 4-10PM. 100% of the proceeds will go to China Cal to help underprivileged children receive free heart surgery in rural Tengchong, Yunnan Province, China. 2) For residents in California, USA: Nathan D. Wong, Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, will host a “China Cal Benefit Dinner” this coming Sunday, November 22nd at the Spicy City Chinese Restaurant in Irvine, CA from 6:00PM-8:00PM. 100% of the proceeds will benefit China Cal’s Heart Surgeries for Red Cross Rejects. This week, China California Heart Watch is pleased announce that Dr. Robert C. Detrano, founder and director of China Cal, received the prestigious “2015 Yunnan Province Foreign Expert Choi Award” bestowed by Yunnan Provincial Governor Moses Chan on Thursday, September 24, 2015. In this photo, Provincial Governor Moses Chan congratulate Professor Robert C. Detrano from the University of California, Irvine for his outstanding contributions made to the development of Yunnan Province, China. Deputy Governor Li Jiang, Deputy Director of Foreign Expert Affairs Sun Zhahua, and Secretary General Lee Yi Fei presided over the ceremony.

Externship for Winter 2015 China California Heart Watch will hold a December 2015 externship program for undergraduate and graduate students interested to pursue careers in health (medicine, public health, nursing, etc.). To apply, please download the application form.

We train rural Chinese doctors and nurses how to properly screen newborn babies for heart murmurs and heart oxygen saturation. This helps identify congenital heart problems that need surgery or medical therapy. China cal also helps poor village children pay for heart surgeries and medicine.
