Beautiful quality restoration; attention paid to detail to bring this baby back to life - not too many of these classics left! Plus drives and feels like a new bus!
1971 Volkswagen Type II Westphalia Campmobile : 1600cc Dual-port engine with 58 hp -- 1971 is the best and most sought-after year for VW campers - -- easy-to-work-on upright engine
4 Cylinder engine

Front power-assisted disc brakes for increased stopping capability and handling.
Exterior (including fiberglass pop-top and interior of engine compartment] is newly painted, with creme and surfer sky blue. [see pics]
Interior is completely restored, including new upholstery in high quality dove grey material ;
-- new 4" foam in bed cushions;
-- new extra seat/box with hinged lid and inside storage;
-- new updated curtains and curtain holdbacks - curtains are double-backed for increased privacy and insulation.
New birch paneling, stained and varnished, and re-installed with new chrome panel buttons.
New passenger and driver door panels
New black front kick panels
New laminate flooring in living area
Lightweight foil/closed-cell foam insulation put in behind all replaced birch panels for increased interior comfort and sound deadening.
--Original rear screen that snaps to rear hatch area - this allows the hatch to be open during summer for cooling and ventilation, without allowing the bugs in!
--Two screened jalousie windows - one on either side of the living area of the bus - crank open to allow for ventilation without any bugs either!
New stereo system with USB port - you can connect your android or iphone and play your tunes directly off the phone.
System will play mp3/audio files, music files, plus am/fm stereo station. Can also hook up any USB device for charging or playing.
Popup Camper - new tent installed
-- Sleeps 3 Adults or two adults and 2 or 3 children
-- Has original cot that folds out from the ceiling, with new canvas
-- Has original child hammock with poles
Behind the driver's seat is a rear-facing jump seat with a hidden storage area underneath the removable cushioned seat top.
Behind the passenger's side, there is a cabinet with an icebox, 7.5 gallon water tank and a sink mounted above the 1.6 cubic foot icebox.
-- The ice box uses about a 5 lb bag of ice every two days during the summer, or you can also freeze a gallon container of water. [icebox has a drain tube that lets the water drip/drain to the outside]
-- A catch-all shelf unit/spice rack is mounted to outward side of the ice box. It has a small fold up table for a camp stove, which serves as a cover for the spice cabinet when folded down.
-- When the sliding door opens, to the rear of the vehicle is a massive clothes closet, with an adjoining linen closet unit.
-- The rear area is taken up by a rear padded bench seat that folds out flat to become a super-comfortable sleeping space (the 4" foam is incredibly nice to sleep on!)
-- The space beneath the rear seat is a huge storage locker for gear that you want to be securely hidden . Access to this storage locker is by a front door or by tilting the platform for the bottom cushion upward.
