Got a couple laps at tonight. Seems like more often than not I end up there on counter-clockwise days, so it was nice to get in a clockwise day for a change. Even did a lap on Phase 1 - who even does that anymore?

It had been a while since I’d been on my so today I decided to ride it up to our local REI to drop off a return.
Check out this new section of the Cleveland Metroparks All-Purpose Trail! It’s parallel to Richmond Rd connecting the Bedford and South Chagrin reservations, so folks don’t have to ride on that stretch of road anymore.
On my way home I took a (very) brief detour through the trail just to prove to myself that yes, in theory, I could take this bicycle .
Where should I ride the Big Dummy next? Let me know in the comments below (wrong answers only).

The forecast called for rain all day, but it looked like I just missed it this morning, and the afternoon ended up quite beautiful for today!
.
I pass over a freeway four times on my route, each one on a dedicated bike/ped bridge: State Route 8 (twice), I-80 (Ohio Turnpike), and I-271. I also go under Rt 8 once; that’s at street level in downtown (no pic).

Rest days are good, and sometimes a rest week is even better. First time in saddle since riding 150 miles last weekend for the felt pretty good. Casual spin home after meeting an old friend for lunch at Birdtown Brewing . Had a few sprinkles but dodged the worst downpour, which seemed to be in the airport area.
Tree down on the near the I-77 underpass. TRAIL CLOSED signs on either end but easily passable by walking or carefully rolling through.

Our own Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail is up to be chosen as a Rails to Trails Conservancy Hall of Fame Trail! Vote early and vote often (for real!) here:

Hall of Fame trails have been selected based on merits since 2007. Hall of Fame trails receive special signage, blog and magazine feature.

Thanks to Summit Metro Parks (I assume?) for starting the work to reconfigure the dangerous intersection where the Bike & Hike Trail crosses Seasons Road in Hudson. The previous painted crossing lane left you out like a sitting 🦆 right where eastbound traffic made the turn onto Sullivan Road. This will be a big improvement! An even bigger improvement would be a traffic light; it’s near impossible to get through there during rush hour.

Thx to for suggesting and hooking me up with these Camrock tires for my . They are a worthy replacement for the venerable Vittoria Mezcals that finally gave up the ghost. I tried them out this past Sunday on the short route (sorry; no pics from that ride). They are an excellent choice if you’re looking for an aggressive multi surface tire—fast and quiet on pavement, stick like glue on gravel from fine to chunky. Really helped me cruise through the chonkiest part of the on my route this morning!
