On Hwy 160 in the Sacramento Delta today, my odometer turned over to 183,000 original miles at 4:30 p.m., enroute to the Bogle Winery. Matías and Ron Brandon pulled over to get this photo just 13 miles afterwards.

Matias was profoundly honored to es**rt, via my comfotable apointments, some of his film archivist friends from Hollywood recently in a tour of the Sacramento region. Randy Haberkamp, recently retired from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and archivist and film restoration specialist Alejandra Espasande.

One of Matías' great pals, and a fan of mine, dean of Northern California broadcasters, Stan Atkinson, passed away yesterday in the early evening; he was 92. The Emmy Award winner made indelible memories from television's infancy to the present. He will be profoundly missed.

In for a check-up to see why I was dropping fluid near the back of the engine...
The answer was unfortunate, especially since the passenger side engine cover plate and gasket were new in 2017 in work done by Metric Motors in Los Angeles.... and the two have failed only after 8 years. Some people don't even keep a car for 7 years, but the Bombal family has had me in service for 66 years. At any rate, Matías is forced to mothball me now for an undetermined amount of time as he can not afford the repair. The conundrum: The matter of parts. They should be ordered now before price the rises for the same parts a few years ahead when Matías might be able to save enough to buy them. Additionally, they should should be ordered now, or before July, when the current US administration's tariffs will skyrocket the parts to unaffordable levels.
