The Alfa Romeo 4C is a 1.7-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder, two-seat sports car that came to the U.S. in 2014. It was offered here for just four years, ending production in 2018 due to low sales. Its closest rivals include the Lotus Elise/Exige/Emira and the Porsche 718 Cayman.

The U.S. version weighs 2,487 pounds, noticeably heavier than the European model’s 1,975-pound curb weight. Most of that difference comes from the additional safety and emissions equipment required for the American market.

Under the rear hatch sits a small but characterful engine that produces 237–240 hp, accompanied by a distinctive low, rumbling exhaust note. With simple tuning, these can comfortably reach 300 hp. Because the engine bay is directly behind the cabin, the turbo noises are front-and-center when driving hard. On the extreme end of the spectrum, there’s even a fully prepped hillclimb example running a Judd V8 that makes around 670 screaming horsepower.

The 4C wasn’t really on my radar before, but after getting the chance to really look over the one I photographed, I’d love to drive one. It’s genuinely unique among modern sports cars.

Some shots from last Sunday. Cars and trucks from various eras were placed on the green displayed at eye catching angles for patrons and photographers alike to feast theireyes on. It was good seeing friends I hadn't even seen in a while. I look forward to the next Sunset gathering.

This is my favorite shot from . It was like discovering hidden treasure. Your mind wants to guess what the front and rear of the car look like. What hidden gems are in the interior. There is also a blend of elements with nature in the foreground and the steel of the car itself. There's also all the color. So much fun!!!

Post 2 – “Icons, One-Offs, and Unicorns”

If Part 1 was about the atmosphere, Part 2 is about the legends that filled it. Luftgekühlt 2025 wasn’t just a gathering — it was a museum of timeless dreams. Everywhere you turned, there was something rare enough to stop you mid-step.

What I love most is how these cars coexist — the raw, stripped-down track weapons parked beside immaculate street machines. A mix of patina and modern tech. Luft had a way of reminding you just how deep Porsche’s story runs.

More legends coming in Part 3. 🏁📸
