Update on Gabi's Progress: A Journey of Strength and Resilience

Dear Well Wishes for Gabi/Aura Community,

We wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update on Gabi's recovery journey. Despite the challenges she has faced, Gabi is working hard on her therapy and making remarkable strides every day.

This journey has not been easy, and Gabi has shown incredible strength and determination throughout. The road to recovery is a long one, but she remains a true fighter, facing each obstacle with courage and resilience.

While there is still a way to go, we are optimistic about Gabi's progress. With the support of her loved ones and the unwavering strength within her, we believe she will come back better than ever.

Hello All, For those of you who do not follow our page we wanted to provide an update on Gabi's progress and to thank all of you for helping Gabi during this time.
I am happy to say that after 6 1/2 weeks in the hospital and rehab center, Gabi is now home with her family. It has been 2 months yesterday since her accident and Gabi continues to improve and show her strength.
All her bones are healing but she is still not able to bear weight on her legs due to her broken pelvis. She has lost sight in her right eye and it will eventually be removed for a prosthetic eye. However, even through all of this trauma, Gabi continues to let her light shine!
During this time at home, Gabi has to rely on others because she is in a wheelchair and unable to walk. We have multiple doctor visits in Richmond on a regular basis. She will start physical, speech, and occupational therapy soon! We are hoping that these therapy sessions will give her back her strength and let her walk again!
We are so thankful to each and every person who loves our Gabi! Every single person who has donated in any way! You are ALL truly a blessing to Gabi and our family. We could never express our gratitude enough for all the support and encouragement she has received during this incredibly difficult time.
We are pushing through and working every day to get her back to her normal life! We are beyond grateful that she is still here and we get more days to enjoy her beautiful spirit!

Hello All,
We just wanted to provide a quick update. Gabi is now home and working on healing. Due to the extent of her injuries, she has a long road to recovery. Gabi has suffered physically, mentally, and personally through this tragedy. After being in the accident, and staying in the hospital and rehab for almost 8 weeks we were informed that she would not be able to live on her own for an unknown amount of time.
She is unable to walk or put any weight on her feet therefore she has to remain in a wheelchair with assistance for normal daily activities. Gabi is the strongest person with a huge heart! We know she will recover from this tragic event and be stronger for her journey!
Our family is forever grateful for all the well wishes and support we have received for Gabi during this time. We will continue to provide updates so that all of her friends and fans can cheer her on during her recovery! Thank you all so much!

Huge Day! Gabi is leaving VCU after 36 days!! Heading to rehabilitation! Looking forward to healing and getting back to life!

Hello All, We just wanted to provide another brief update. Gabi is doing well today, she passed her swallowing test and was able to get her first Starbucks! She was in good spirits today. We are hoping she will be able to get out of the hospital and move to rehabilitation within the next week or two.
Gabi is truly a warrior!! 💪🏼 she is fighting through this and everyone that has worked with her since the beginning is amazed at her progress!

Hello all: Gabi is doing well physically and fighting to heal. She is a true warrior! 💪🏼 After discussions with Doctors, specialists and family we have decided it is in Gabi’s best interests and part of her rehabilitation plan to limit people that Gabi can text, video or call to minimize distractions and confusion for her.
Unfortunately at this time she is not able to properly respond in her communications and we don’t want or need any one taking it wrong or replying something upsetting. Additionally, she may be sending pictures or videos that other people may save and show someone else. We all want to do our best to protect her privacy through this difficult time while she heals.
Please know that the whole family appreciates everyone’s love, prayers and support for Gabi/Aura! We ask that you continue checking this page for updates on her progress from the family. It is difficult for us to focus on her and answer everyone so please be patient. Thank you all for your continued love and support!
