It would appear Chevys come apart just as easy as the Fords. Timing chain tensioner failure resulting in jumped cam timing and a bunch of bent valves. Borescope showed bad scoring in the displacement on demand cylinders. Customer elected to go with a reman long block. Book procedure doesn't call for pulling the cab but it still knocked ~4 hours off the labor guide. Fun times!

Here's an interesting one from a couple weeks ago. Customer wanted to have a rack to hang a 16 foot long, 40 inch wide ramp under his trailer while retaining the aerodynamic skirt for California requirements. Took a bit of head scratching and figuring but it turned out pretty good. Forgive the in the dark flashlight pics. Finished up the evening it got picked up.

Been a few since I put anything up. Personal project here that's been needing to get done. All aluminum frame work with a covered steel gooseneck plate. Deck wood is Apitong at supplier recommendation. I made some boxes/trays for blocking, hitches, straps and such that run just shy of the full bed width. First time in a while to be glad to be done welding lol.

Semis, Superduty's and barstools oh my. Little bit of variety recently. King pins, air bags, and a plethora of other repairs on the International. Engine and injector harnesses on the f350 for a driveability issue. And a new set of legs for some barstools with sentimental value. Had to turn one king pin into a six piece version to get it out. The 16 pound Wilton sledge was not enough! 😲

Finally cutting the roots on the Wi***es! Supplier delays dragged this one out but she's done here.
Custom headers and muffler fab and install, shifter mounted, bumper brackets built and welded on, parachute mount fab and install, and an aluminum fire wall behind the seats held in with quarter turn fasteners, and welded up the roll cage and door bars. Thanks to Zack Leber for the help and brain storming! Can't wait to see what neat projects come through next!

Been a bit since I've had something different in the shop. Built a set of small block chevy headers for a '33 Wi***es gasser coupe. 3 1/2" collectors with a 2 1/2" stub out to a muffler.

Another neat project in the books. Built a short handrail section for a customer's house. 1 1/2" solid twisted steel posts and an edge hammered rail with square headed lag bolts. I really like the look of the heavy posts and the customer says it's rock solid.
