If you have been here before you know the roads less traveled are my freeway.
Always hear header and heat tape are no good, don’t work, and ruin your s**t. To prove a point a few years ago, I hacked this exhaust system together. First time doing anything like this or was that prom night?
Part is nasty rusted, straight up wrapped and black paint Pretty obvious and the worst, from the resonators back.

3 years old for sure chance it maybe 4. Check the timeline and let me know 😆

The best or the two was the H or X pipe. Washed with acetone or ISO. Painted with cheap ole hi temp charcoal barbecue grill paint. $5 a can. Did not follow any directions. No heat cycling BS. Wrapped. Sprayed outside of the wrap and allow to dry. Don’t think it really helped to keep fibers down lol.

Keep in mind. I did not give the prep a good job or effort. Imagine if I would have cared. Clean, scuffed with something like 120 or scotch brite pad. The good stuff like VHT which is. Honestly I am shocked with the grill paint myself. Buah hahahahahaha

By the way this was done with the intention I knew it was coming off any way.

The pipes that pass under the diff have to be refitted, not today.Rattle a bit mostly driverside. Honestly, I just want it out of the garage and on the road. Not tomorrow either. 😆
Changing the mount and clamp for the mufflers and tips.
At the time bought a pair of genaric tips, cut them up to make them fit. Some how never cleaned up the inside of the passenger tip. 🤦‍♀️ Good help is hard to find.

For those smarter than me which should be all of you..
Why or how does this thing handle so flat?
Most of this s**t dont belong here. The stuff that does has been worked over.
Was putting the exhaust back on from the trans build looking to see what I have to do to get the tire, sway bar and exhaust to all fit in this little spot right there…. Then it hit me! Everyone who rides in it says i thought you put coil over in it?

Never had a rear sway bar on it since reassembled, rear tire inthr way and never took the time. Front mustang bar I guessed at is too wide.

Bistein B8 (Sport) coilovers. Fronts were mustangs used off of the web. Lost the note on the rate. Rear ordered new from Maximum Motorsport told them what I was doing and what others have done based off of 03/04 cobras. Provided corner weights of the old car, what will be different. Knew exactly how to calculate for it. Ride height and mounting dimensions.

Output shafts, earlier versions they say are made of softer materials. Towards the end of the 90s the shafts were made of much harder materials.
The shaft on the left is billet or m300 type material, dont remeber. Right was the stock one I took out.
Zoom in just ahead of where the driveshaft yoke spine ends. You can see where the file scratched one and marked the other.
Want to say ebay and $100. Kind of had to buy it that cheap. Input about story.

If you have the deep aluminum pan do yourself a favor and make a couple clips to hold the filter in place.
I never cared for it how mine did, may have been how mine was cast. Have heard from many they had zero issue. Then again ignorance is bliss or something like that and I don’t know what they are trying to say about bliss or ignorance.
Stick your camera in the drain plug hole and you may or may not chamber your mind.

I went to a new stock style pan (not shown)with a drain plug a bubble down for the pickup tube(as shown).

Transmission is ready to go back in. How do I get it back in the garage by myself? Then over the hump in the ramp for the lift?
Had to stand on the end a little, keep from sliding. Guess I should bolt it down 🤔 Maybe even level it!
Since I’m unemployed at the moment, bang this bitch out and get ‘er back on the road.

Forward drum is getting some upgrades.
Sonnax Billet extra capacity.

Pic of the piston kind of hard to tell maybe.
One of them was debur, sanded out casting porosity, parts tumbler, then polished to a mirror.

This kind of work has been the biggest hold up on getting this done. Time for the details. Finding what works and what works with less effort.

Is it worth the trouble? Depends who you ask and personality.

Most agree debur is a good idea.
How do you destress a pieces of aluminum? 😂
Idea with sanding and polishing, promote fluid flow and cooling. Every piece of metal I can is getting the treatment. Yes steel/iron, cast/machined parts as well.
