March 2021 Bluegrass Jam Week campout at Texarkana RV Music Park. If you show up early you get your pick of spots. I chose closest to the screened pickin shed. There were about 24 trailers/motorhomes by the end of the week. Great fun!

We were greeted by deer when entering Cedar Ridge Park (CoE) at Lake Belton. 5 peaceful days following a tough week. We were in site 50, not on the water, but still had views of the lake from both sides of camper. We recommend sites 56, 58, 60, 62 for good sunset views over the lake. Great daytime weather and the propane furnace kept us warm at night. Had family stay over a couple of nights on the fold out sofa bed and more local family visit for Coleman stove hamburgers and campfire Smores!

Some nice, local renters took Happy Jack out to Possum Kingdom Lake, west of Fort Worth, for a 3-day campout. 4 adults slept comfortably (we added a 2-inch foam pad for the sofa-bed) and had perfect weather to enjoy a little fishing, grilling, and beautiful sunsets. Towed easily by their Ford F150. They got lucky and got the best spot, Site 10, due to a cancelation.

Short haul down to Glen Rose, Texas on the first week of October. The festival had been canceled at Oakdale Park, but we decided to go anyway, brought friends along, toured the town square nearby and the Big Rocks Park across the street, and found some good folks to jam with Saturday evening. This historic park was just sold by the city to an enthusiastic couple, Philip and Lucy, who have big plans to improve the park and continue the Bluegrass Jamborees.

After a rental trip to Lake Texhoma in early September, we took Happy Jack to East Texas for a 10-day trip. We spent most of it at the Texarkana RV Music Park with friends playing and singing bluegrass music and visiting with our daughter. From there we checked into the beautiful piney woods of Lake Bob Sandlin State Park for a couple of days and visited our friends' lake properties nearby.

Lots of folks are heading to the campgrounds over Labor Day weekend and many want to take their furry friends too. We may change our listing to pet-friendly after the "newness" wears off.

Our August renters enjoyed a great family campout on Lake Murray in Oklahoma.
