Needing an awning to escape the hot Florida Sun 🌞. Grabbing a socket that has sat baking in the sun is not fun. Me baking in the sun is great for my tan but is also miserable. I have several prototypes of previous awnings but none of them were perfect for every job. Either the legs got in the way or it wasn't secured to anything. I found one that checked all the boxes but it is not available for the USA it is the hannibal safari legless awning around 950.00 plus all the fees and from what I find they do not import to the USA from Australia. So I kept looking at it and searching for one used online with no real results other than a guy who ran into the same problem and he decided to build his own. So here is my journey building one for myself. So far I haven't really found many measurements other than the width of the awning. So everything is just whatever I decide it is. Width of the awning will be 7'9" the arms swing out to be 7'7" my tarp is 8 x 10 so I will have some setup options depending on the situation and have a peak in the center for rain runoff. Up next gotta build brackets and order a few more parts and testing will begin.
