This MKII GT40 came to Jo's Garage to receive its 427 cubic inch small block Roush engine and a 5 speed manual transaxle! To further accentuate the classic GT40 soundtrack from the "Bundle of Snakes" headers, this customer opted for megaphone exhaust outlets that are swappable with the factory mufflers. The resulting driving experience is unforgettable, and street driving is made safer with a reverse camera integrated into the rearview mirror.

The team here at Jo's Garage installed a 5.0L Dark Horse Coyote V8 engine into the MKIII chassis with a 5 speed manual transmission. To create one of the most unique driving experiences available, we designed equal length exhaust headers and used GT40 style 180* collectors to create a soundtrack you've never heard from a Cobra before. A NASCAR style boom tube exhaust exit further adds to the high RPM symphony sung by this animal.

The modern Mustang engine is untouched other than the 8 stack (ITB) intake on top; resulting output peaks at 550 crank horsepower. A MoTeC ECU controls all of those ponies and is calibrated with the ex-Formula 1 experience of .race.engines. That means this Cobra has plenty of power with factory Coyote reliability to boot, without the headaches of maintenance you would expect from other cars with this soundtrack such as a 355.

This Gen 4 Coyote spins up to 7600 rpm, but sounds like it's turning way more RPM thanks to the exhaust we designed and manufactured in house here at Jo's Garage. With 550 crank horsepower, this animal is ready to hit the streets with an undeniably unique driving experience with factory Coyote reliability. More details to come in the next post, including the 8 stack intake (ITBs), MoTeC controls, and more pictures!

New life for this stunning Cobra!

After the previous owner had a minor front end collision, the drivetrain was removed and the body was repaired. The new owner brought the car to the team here as Jo's Garage, and we put a new heart into this MKIII! Gen 4 Coyote with dual throttle bodies, 5 speed manual transmission, and some upgrades got this snake back on the road with some extra pep in its step.

The team here at Jo's Garage stuffed a Whipple Supercharged Coyote 5.0 into this beautiful Superformance MKIII chassis. We managed to squeeze the 10R80 transmission into the tunnel before designing a custom shifter to match the classic Cobra look. Gears can be manually selected using the paddle shifters, and with 2600 lbs and more than 800 horsepower, it's reassuring to have two hands on the wheel. This radical drivetrain combination is being calibrated by Ford Racing themselves.

This animal will be at SEMA 2025! It can be found in the Central Hall at the booths, numbers 23459 and 23555.

This 30th Anniversary Cobra came to Jo's Garage to get its heart installed, in this case receiving 7.3L of V8 power and a manual transmission. Gears are selected with our billet aluminum shifter, and corners are navigated with a carbon fiber steering wheel.

We're thankful for horsepower and Gulf liveries here at Jo's Garage.

Which classic racecar would you put in your garage? The MKI GT40, or the Porsche 917? Both cars came to Jo's Garage to have drivetrains installed and integrated, with the GT40 receiving a 7.3L Godzilla V8 and the 917 receiving a twin turbo 3.3L air cooled flat six.
