1985 Mercedes Benz 380sl Hard/Soft Top Convertible - $7500 (Plano)
Drive one or two others before you come check this one out so you can truly appreciate this one. Runs and drives like it did when it was new.

139,4XX miles (Less thank 5,000 per year)

Less than 1000 miles since:
Suspension and steering rebuilt.
Timing chain, guides and tensioner replaced.
Interior redone.
New tires.
Cold air conditioner.
Alpine CD Player.

The car is in good mechanical condition, the paint job is about a 7/10, but shines well. The major work including new tires was done in 2013/2014, but the car sat for a couple of months while recovering the seats and the ethanol fuel gummed up the fuel system. (This is a common problem for these cars) I decided to retrofit a carburetor in place of the overly complicated and problematic Bosch fuel injection system and now the car is reliable and robust plus it can be serviced by any competent mechanic.

The removable hard top and original manuals and tool kit are included as well as receipts for the parts that have been replaced. The original fuel injection components are also included.

Clear title in my name and in hand and ready to sign over.

You may have been searching for a 280SL, 300SL, 350SL, 420SL, 450SL or 500SL. This 380 SL is a great car for the summer.

Hello everyone. I'm sorry for the long break in communication. I just realized I have several new inquires about the 5-axis machine via Facebook. I currently do not have any of the 5-axis machines available and the prototype machine is setting in the corner of my shop unfinished. I have however built a couple of 3-axis machines and am currently installing a 4th axis on one of them. The intention has always been use the 3-axis machine to finish the 5-axis machine, but other projects have gotten in the way. In response to the growing interest in the 5-axis machine I have decided to move forward with it again and I am currently evaluating the cost as well as design improvements based off of experience from my other machines. We are also working on an affordable CNC Plasma cutter.

After the unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign I have started working on the 500 Series once again. I took the month of October off to get caught up on some long over due projects around the house. Expect updates to begin rolling out this week.

Thank you to everyone who backed or shared my project. It looks like the campaign will end about 30% shy of the goal. However, this is not the end. I have made many new connections with people willing to help me make this project a reality and am confident we will succeed in the near future.

Well, we are in the final hours of the Kickstater campaign and it looks like we will be about $2600 shy of our goal. I have too much invested in this project to just let it die.
