Nellie Nash The last Metropolitan body was made by Fisher & Ludlow on the 10th April 1961. It also "swam against nearly every current of American car design".

Faced with increasing competition from AMC's own Rambler American models, as well as newly introduced compact cars from the Big Three, the Met lost market appeal. US-bound Metropolitan production ended in April 1961, as a result of its "marginal sales plus the fact that a four or five passenger Rambler American could be purchased for only about $100 more"

The Metropolitan "was a car that appealed

to an eclectic mix of Americans" because it was "economical, yet a joy to drive", and it has been described as "pure automotive whimsy".

Nellie Nash is cordially invited to attend The Fall Automotive Concours presented at Monarch Dunes Golf Course in Nipomo California on the 2nd of October 2016. This Invitation is being extended to her by a representative of the Selection Committee on behalf of the Event Chairman.
This Automotive Exhibition will be presented with the vehicles displayed on the Monarch Dunes Golf Course, providing a most beautiful setting for the several hundred outstanding vehicles being invited from locations near and far.
Unlike most traditional Car Show events, The Fall Automotive Concours, is an “Invitational” presentation. As such, a committee representative has selected your vehicle specifically for participation at this Charity event. It must be noted that the quantity of vehicles is notably restricted as compared to many “car show” type events.
This event is free to the public and all are welcome. Come out an join Wayne and I for this Concours.
