Three more legs in the books.
The leg from Owatonna to Moberly was a tough one, a bunch of us departed at the same time, trying to get off rhe ground and though the flyby in short order, so there was a lot of traffic and congestion (plus one guy doing an instrument approach and someone else trying to get into the pattern š¤Ŗ) then we had quite a bit of weather to contend with.
Once the ceilings lifted, we had few storm cells showing up on our weather radar right in our path. Fortunately they werenāt too bad and we were able to punch right through them, though others diverted.
Then a lunch stop in Missouri, and we were off on our next leg. That flight was smooth sailing after everything we went through getting out of Minnesota, but it wasnāt without its challenges, like an air force base to divert around.
The next stop was really quick: a bathroom break, a sq**rt of fuel, and just before we were about to take off, a guy from the newspaper asked me if he could take my picture signing my name to the Airports poster with the route on it. I chatted with him a bit, and asked his daughter who had come with him if she was going to learn to fly someday. She said she didnāt think so, the planes we fly were too small. I invited her to sit in my seat for a minute so she could see what the airplane look like and her dad got a couple pictures of her holding the yoke, and maybe she might someday change her mind about these airplanes being too small.
Then it was off for one final leg, to Dodge City, Kansas. The city certainly delivered on the smell we were promisedā¦. And the hospitality has been great so far, too.
Next stop: the terminus!
