Congrats buddy! Lake McConaughy
📷: Congrats to Jace for catching the largest walleye at the Youth Outdoors Nebraska fishing tournament! 👏
OUTDOOR REPORT
🎣 Water temperature is up to about 70°F.
Walleye continue to be caught in 12-25 foot of water near Lemoyne and to the west, with live bait. The dam and rocky points are yielding a good small mouth bass bite. Catfish are being caught regularly around the whole lake. The channel and river below Lake Ogallala are the best places to catch trout, although there are some being caught at Lake Ogallala.
🚤 DOCKS:
Martin Bay low water (near the base of the dam)
Divers Bay/Burma Road
Lake Ogallala (Both)
🎣 LAKE EVENTS:
Hobie Fleet 61 July 11-13
Keystone Lemoyne Sand VB Tournament July 18
Kites and Castles July 25
🏖 Boat ramp sand removal is planned on every Monday and Thursday. A contracted excavation of the sand at the ramps is planned for June 31- July 2. During this time, one ramp at a time will close to allow the work to be done.
💧Current elevation is 3218.5 ft or 659,300 acre feet (Acre foot is one acre with a foot of water on it - this translates to about one football field with a foot of water on it)
Inflows this week to Lake McConaughy are 100 CFS (cubic feet per second). Outflows are 2150 CFS.
🔥 Nebraska Game and Parks would like to remind everyone that campfires are allowed but must be in a fire pit.
🎆 A REMINDER: Fireworks and alcohol are NOT allowed at Lake McConaughy and Lake Ogallala.
🚧 Boats and jet skis are advised to avoid traveling west of Sand Point. Keystone-Lemoyne Fire & Rescue officials say there is a danger of vessels getting stuck in the sand/mud at the west end of the lake in the river area due to low water levels. 🚧
