The result was a rugged SUV with real off-road roots and the unmistakable whine of a supercharger every time you stepped on the throttle.
What makes these trucks special is how unexpected they are. A Pathfinder already has that classic boxy SUV look and solid Nissan reliability, but adding a supercharger completely changes the personality. Suddenly, this practical SUV feels alive. The extra torque makes it pull harder off the line, sound meaner, and feel way more fun than anyone expects from an old Pathfinder.
Fun fact: Nissan originally offered the supercharger as part of the towing package on certain models. That means buyers looking for more towing capability accidentally ended up with one of the coolest factory SUVs of the early 2000s. More boost, more torque, and more capability. Not a bad deal.
Enthusiasts still love the supercharged VG33ER setup today because it gives the Pathfinder that perfect mix of old-school SUV toughness and early-2000s performance vibes.
