Ultra4 Racing at Adventure Offroad Park & Nature Center this weekend. Not my best race but pulled off a 3rd place finish. Huge thanks to Tyler Harvey co-driving and Sam Bratton in the pits.

Had a front leaf spring break on the first lap. Kept on goin until a coolant line split causing the engine to overheat. Tyler made a quick sprint back to the pits to grab coolant and get us back to the finish line.

Thanks to all my great sponsors that help make it happen.

WIN WIN WIN!! 2019 Racing Season wrapped up with a bow!!!

2019 Polaris RZR Pro Rock Survival Race finals at Adventure Offroad Park in South Pittsburg, Tn What great race course and venue!

Finally a “nearby” race venue for us southern rock racers 😁. Was excited to have great friends and family be able to make the drive to come out to support the team.

Smooth travels to the race Friday with enough time to unload and take a lap around the 5mile course. The course was almost entirely hard core rock crawling up and down through some of the toughest and gnarliest trails the park offers! Loaded with optional lines and plenty of ROCKS!! Once out of the woods it opened into a full throttle 200 yard drag race into a short course track filled with multiple table top jumps , whoops and drifting corners. Once you left the short course it was back full throttle sprint back to a stop/start check at the end before heading back into woods.

Qualifying Friday evening was done on the short course race section. Got in line while there was still daylight, but just about dark when it was time to leave the line. With the lights on made a conservative loop around at 92 seconds, which ended up landed me with the Pole position, 1.3 seconds faster than the current season points leader Matt Gresser Hill Mallstar Billy

Matt had won the first 2 races of the season and placed on the podium the rest with only a 6 point lead going into this race even with my past 3 wins. Only a 1st Place win would secure the championship for me!

Race Start at 1pm! We had only 2 laps to prove ourselves on this brutal rocky course. First off the line and headed into the woods and into the rock trails with solid plan to push out in front and try to stay there. With an open race course ahead we ran the lines we planned and kept the car out front. Didn’t see another car until lap 2 where we came up on the Roger King and Jarrod Johnson who had come to a stop at the approach to several rocky “pick your poison” hill climbs. We choose an offcamber line which ended up putting our front tire caught on a tree. Unable to get unstuck, co-driver Oates got out to winch the car off the tree. As we struggled to get free, we watched Roger and Jarrod pass us as they had made their way up the top on another difficult line to the top. Once we got freed the decision was made to risk driving solo the rest of the course. Got back on the gas and headed to chase down Roger as we came into another rock garden to find Matt out of his car inspecting something underneath. Headed further up the rock garden and saw Roger stopped again. Made it past and out the top. Continued at a quick pace knowing others were likely right behind until finally coming out of the woods again. Headed through the short course and back to the finish with my co-driver there waving the checkers!!!

Thanks again to my co-driver Oates for all the hard work both in and out of the car again all weekend!! Great Job!

Congrats to Kevin Cox on his 2nd place finish and Matt Gresser and Roger King sharing the 3rd place spot.

Thanks to all my friends and family and sponsors who continue to support and cheer us on! Thanks to my fellow competitors and racing family. Really appreciate all the great help and support!!

Another great race in the books! Pro Rock Racing 2019 Polaris RZR Pro Rock/UTV Race #5 at Knott County Mine Made Adventure Park outside of Hazard, Kentucky had an entirely new race course created on another section their expansive trail system which offered a new race hill and miles of new trails.

With little time between races for car prep it had only gotten a once over to address some well worn parts. New steering parts were installed and a few custom parts were needed to get it back into shape. Huge thanks to Branik Motorsports coming through in short notice to get the new custom parts machined and delivered to the park in time to replace at the track.

Arrived early Friday morning to Pre-run the race course and planned parts replacement. Again course Pre-run went smooth. The fast 6 mile course was made up of varying terrain of steep hill climbs and offcamber descents, fast single-track along dangerous cliffs, and wide open sprints through the flat fields from mountain to mountain. We made a few laps to put the course to memory and came back to the pits to swap in the new Branik parts before qualifying. New parts went in as planned but found my rear leaf spring was broken. The eyelet was completely sheared off from the main leaf. 😲Thankfully eyelet was still contained in the next leaf but adding an excessive amount of movement and loss of support. No parts or time fix before qualifying 😞

The qualifying course was a 1/2 mile loop made up of the first section of racecourse down two large drop offs, then up 2 steep ledges and sidehill down to the bottom, then a fast sprint back to the start.

Pulled up to qualify with a broken suspension, but better prepared than previous races as we had preran this section and had line planned. Took off down the ledges and then up and around and back. Felt solid, but a bit conservative. Time was 63.5 seconds. We watched as other competitors qualified with my time holding up as the fastest in class!!

Back to the pits to assess the broken spring. It was still there but now flopping around even worse. We made the decision to pull the pack and try to weld it back together. With the help of fellow competitor Jason Dehn we had it back together and ready to go for the race on Saturday.

Race Start at high Noon! First off the line and open air. Set a conservative pace with the next car leaving the line a minute behind. Kept moving not seeing any other competitors but knew I had to keep a good pace from the rest of the pack. Kept the pace going all the way to finish in 1st Place!!

Thanks again to my co-driver and assistant mechanic Oates for all the hard work both in and out of the car all weekend!! Amazing work.

Congrats to Roger King on his 2nd place finish who managed to chased us down from the back of the pack and Hill Mallstar Billy /Matt Gresser with 3rd Place!

Thanks to all my friends and family who continue to cheer us on! Thanks to my fellow competitors who are always willing to lend hand. Really appreciate all the great help and support!!

2019 Polaris RZR Pro Rock/UTV Race #4 at Windrock Park had a super tight 8 mile race course mapped through a private portion of this enormous ORV property in the mountains of Tennessee outside of Knoxville. After prior bad luck this season we were hoping for a better race.

Arrived early Friday morning with plenty of time to Pre-run the race course. Pre-running went pretty smooth as the course was again almost entirely tight single-track with only a few rock ledges and optional hill climbs to make a pass. The car was running hotter than normal but it was over 100 degrees out and humid. After the quick shake down we headed to qualifying course to get it done early and out of the way so we could recoup some lost sleep from the long drive there. The qualifying course was a short 1/4 mile figure 8 loop in front of the massive hill climbs that crossed through a very tight wooded section in the middle to a sweeping off camber jump back around to the start/finish.

We pulled up to qualify and was advised there was no pre-running the qualifying course. So without much further thought off we went. Quick sprint into the trees, bounced between a few and out, then looped back into the trees, then off the jump and around to finish in 38 seconds. Smooth and steady. Ended up setting a time faster than almost half the unlimited class cars and a Top place qualifying time in Stock class!!

7am drivers meeting we were updated our class would be run after the unlimited class due to some course changes and to keep good flow. Race Start. We were first off the line to head on course, open air ahead and set myself into a conservative pace with the next car leaving the line 30 seconds behind. Made it about 6 miles to the first rock ledge and then saw the 2nd position car of Gresser hot on my heels. As we crested the top of 2nd rock rock ledge we put the hammer down 🙂 Car temps started climbing as we increased our distance from the racers behind. We had to get the car to cool down or risk blowing the motor, so we made the decision to pull in the pits and have it checked out. So after a stop in the pits and a cool down splash, we set off again, luckily never seeing another competitor. Kept the pace going all the way to finish in 1st Place!!

Huge thanks to Oates for spending his summer break and weekends to help rebuild and prep the car. Your time and hard work has certainly payed off. Thanks for the great co-driving as well. Could not have done it without you!!!

Thanks to a great pit crew Greg Stoudt, Jay Andrews, Chris May, Gary Bean, Drew Goldie, Will Harris and Jody Hickman!!

Congrats again to Gresser on his 2nd place finish and Roger King taking 3rd Place. You guys just keep pushing us to get better, faster and racing smarter. Thanks to Kevin Cox for putting on the “best send it” during qualifying!! You sure put on a show!!

Thanks to all our friends and family who made it out to support me. Really appreciate you rooting me on!!

Another stellar Pro Rock Race, hats off to the crew that make it happen.

2019 Polaris RZR Pro Rock/UTV Race #3 WildCat Offroad had a great 6.5 mile race course mapped through a small portion of this amazing 2000+ acre offroad park in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky.

Changes to the team for this race included a brand new co-driver, Bryson Oates, and a plan to Pre-run the race course!! We arrived to the park late Thursday night to allow all day Friday for prerunning and qualifying. Something rare in recent years due to time. Got up fresh on Friday and set off to prerun the course. Everything went smoothly, took our time and took notes as course was gonna be fast with very little room for passing. The course was primarily tight single-track woods with just a few open straight spots that would allow for some quick passes. It then continued and exited the woods to a long sweeping off camber turn down into a mud ravine with steep slick hill exit to the main open area with the start/finish, but not before taking flight with a nice 15’ gap jump to the start/finish line!!

Later in the day qualifying began on a very short half mile qualifying short course, which consisted of a several hill climbs, descents and off-camber sections then finishing with the gap jump! The jump was large enough in size to deter some of the racers but our decision was to attempt the jump and hope for the best as qualifying up front would minimize traffic on the raceday. Beginning the qualifying lap down the first drop off we heard a loud bang but kept pushing the car harder through the rest of the short course then sailing it over the jump successfully and ended up qualifying 2nd, only getting beat by .017 of a second! We headed back to the paddock to check the car. The noise sounded like a broken front right axleshaft. We flexed out the car in attempt to get it to click, or seize or make the noise again, but couldn’t hear anything and the car was pulling fine. Then jacked the front end up and rotated the front driveline. No noise, no binding.

We called it a night after a great steak dinner at a local restaurant hoping that what ever the bang had been was just a fluke!

Saturday morning drivers meeting was slightly delayed in order to insure all scoring equipment was fully operational due to the rain overnight. The race was set for 3 laps. We lined up behind the quick qualifier, 6cyl Jeep Wrangler of Jason Dehn. We headed off the line to chase him down but as we got further into the lap, the phantom “noice” started coming back 😞. We caught up to Jason and he allowed us a clean pass in the first opportunity. The bangs were getting louder and more frequent so we backed off our pace to save the car. Coming into the last half mile of the first lap we heard a horn and let the fire red 6cyl Jeep Cherokee Roger King and Jarrod Johnson pass us. As we rounded the off-camber towards the finish we saw the red Cherokee fail to make it up the hill out of the muddy ravine. He was reversing down the ravine and we were headed down the ravine from the other side. He continued backing up directly into the line we were headed into and we collided. 😞. We backed up off his rear quarter and made an attempt to drive around and up the hill he had just gotten denied on, but had no success either. Backed up as far as we could without hitting his Cherokee again and tried again. He was stuck and so were we and finally realizing the entire rear axle was no longer pulling. 😞 The rest of the competitors came down the same hill slid into the ravine and ALL got stuck. Every racer now stuck at the bottom and trying to find a way up. The white 6cyl Cherokee of Kevin Cox and Jesse Spencer came out of nowhere and crossed in front of us at the bottom of the ravine only to get stuck now in front of us in the pit of mud. Next came Matt Gresser in his 4cyl Wrangler only to slide into the side of us. Only way out was up and required winching to the limited trees. As the race was now at a standstill and within view of the start/finish the race operations bypassed the race course to avoid the pileup and sent recovery assistance to extract the field of competitors from this quagmire. We now had a working winch, but only front wheel drive, we winched up and out but now the last competitor to get up this hill. My co-driver got back in the car and we bypassed the gap jump and headed to the start/finish line but front wheel drive could not pull us up the final accent. We reversed the car and drove up backwards and crossed the line for lap one and started into lap 2 but quickly realized there was no way we were gonna make it through with just front wheel drive. Couldn’t make it up the next hillclimb and had to get extracted off the course just as my front driveshaft snapped in two! Our race now ended and got towed into the pits for the rest of the race.

Had all the right intentions for race success but the car had other plans. Huge thanks to Bryson Oates for jumping in to fill co-driving duty’s. Great job on the winching skills!!!

Congrats again to Matt Gresser again on his 2nd first place finish, Roger King / Jared Johnson and Jason Dehn on their podium finishes. Hats off to all the competitors that came out and put on a great show.

Thanks to the great Pro Rock Racing staff for another amazing race course!!
