2025 32nd TheShootout recap:

We had one goal for this year’s shootout. Drive the car from Colorado to the 32nd Shootout, race in the stock appearing class and drive it back.

Day 1 poker run presented by is the highlight of the weekend. If you haven’t done it you need, you’ll be hooked and back every year. First timers agree.

Day 2-4 we had a small issue before Q1. Found we had ripped a CV boot on the right front axle fortunately we were able to get another axle and have it replaced. Didn’t make it in time for Q1 but did make it for Q2. Didn’t push the car very hard, soft launches, easy shifts, but record times wasn’t the goal. Got eliminated round 1 but that’s expected when you line up next to a 9 second car.

Probably the least stressful shootout weekend I’ve had. Simple fun passes. Getting to hangout out with great people. Most of these photos are brought to you by

While there I installed a cross member. Well worth the upgrade. I was shocked how much it stiffened up the front end.

Was able to talk to Matt and Annika for a while. Excited to be adding one of their pieces of art to the engine bay for next season.

The drive home was eventful. We lost the mounting nut for the alternator about 2 hours into the drive. Decide to just stop and rest in a hotel before fixing it in the morning thanks to Dusty Landrum. After that we were good to go. However we will probably choose to trailer the car next year. Being in the car for that long was just too loud and uncomfortable for us. Next year we will stick to the comfortable and quiet truck 😂
