Vivian Rivera's Chosen Butterflies are taking over your Sundays!

October 14th (Central Park)- Meet me by the bandstand for our traditional dance and walk at 8:00am

***** We ask that you wear all black with butterfly wings (variations of pink and/or purple) because it’s Halloween season butterfly wings are very easy to come by.

October 21st (Orchard Beach)- Bring a balloon
(butterfly, pink happy birthday or anthing that screams Vivian).. why you ask? Because its Moms BIRTHDAY!!! Join us in celebrating her Birthday walking in her honor at 9am (Location TBD)

After 7 years of anxiety and heart ache; a light bulb went off for both Chris and I regarding what to do with my mother’s ashes. If you all remember for her 50th birthday my cousin and I spread some of her ashes in her beloved St. Marteen Island. That was an unforgettable experience. That still leaves me with much of her in my home and I can’t help but feel there is something we can do with her remains that will allow all of us to heal.

We are SOOOOOO EXCITED TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU ALL!

We will be working with NYC Tree Trust https://www.nycgovparks.org/trees/tree-care/ny-tree-trust to plant a tree in her honor. That’s not all! We will be using a significant amount of her ashes to plant HER TREE in her forever Gym/tanning bed AKA Pelham Bay Park! Just imagine picnics, random one on ones and whatever else we desire around Vivian’s Tree!

Of course this idea comes with a price; it is $2,100.00. I was thinking before I start fundraising and selling Dee’s belongings….I would ask you all to either join me in making the initial donations OR give ideas as to innovative and Vivian-esque wants to start our fundraising adventure!

My family and i would be honored if all who donate attend the planting of her tree 🙂
