On Wednesday, our co-owner Kelly presented to the Peninsula Women’s Network about what goes on behind the bay doors at Don’s Automotive, and about the people who do the work.
Here’s what she covered:
🔧 Knowing what you’re paying for. Kelly walked through our diagnostic services: brake checks, starting/charging, driveability, electrical, leaks, lights and fuses, noise and vibration, overheating, and dash lights. Each one has a clear “what you’re getting” list, so you know exactly what we check before we recommend anything.
📸 Seeing it for yourself. She shared a sample digital inspection report. Our techs document every vehicle with photos, measurements, and plain-language findings, so you see what we see. No guesswork, no pressure.
👩🎓 Investing in the next generation of technicians. Kelly also talked about what keeps new techs in the industry: hands-on training, mentorship, and work-based learning that builds real confidence. EVs and driver-assist systems are changing the field quickly, and shops like ours have a part in helping new technicians grow and stay.
