FIP Community: A small group of your neighbor boaters in the marina have decided to keep the tradition alive of the annual INVASION and to represent the values of INCLUSION, ACCEPTANCE, and LOVE it represents. On Saturday July 4, several boaters will create a flotilla embarking from Fire Island Pines around noon in the Great South Bay.
Our flotilla will proceed from the Pines around noon, pass by Cherry Grove, Water Mill then back home to the Pines around 2-3 pm. If you are a boater and want to join us to show your support, meet us at the green buoy “1” leading to FIP around 12: 45 pm. We will use channel 69.
You are welcome to watch us from either the FIP or CG docks, but please keep in mind social distancing rules. The Invasion was cancelled to avoid having thousands of people on the docks, so please be responsible with your distance between eachother and friend groups. Alternately, we will livestream the flotilla, stay tuned for where to watch. You can also listen to our shared music on 88.1.
Following our Flotilla, we will be (loosely) converging on the beach near Beach Hill around 3-4 pm. Look for the pink shade structure and our encampment. Our music will be curated by DJs Christian Cortez and Colin Joyner.
