Operation: Christmas Tree Time!

We got our tree for the inside of our house. Jackson loves Texas Roadhouse so we hit that up before picking out our tree. The people loved seeing our truck not knowing what it was.

We were able to find the perfect tree for our house.

Time to get out the ornamets!

Operation: Lights, Camera, Action Jackson!

This is BY FAR our favorite time of the year coming up. For those who have not been following along we take our beat up 63 F100 and light the crap out of it and then throw a crazy sound system in it. Action Jackson has a mic up front to sing along and every year he tweaks our Christmas playlist. We then drive around Town spreading Christmas cheer and hand out candy canes (many times throwing large handfuls into cars when stopped at a light). We then buy a tree from a local nursery and light that sucker up in the back of the truck too. Then we have a trailer that we have made up with a Santa sleigh with a Santa on it all lit up.

We also have a scavenger hunt for the 12 days of Christmas where we hide a gift card to a local business every night for 12 days. It helps Jackson learn about the spirit of Christmas and that it is better to give than receive.

Usually each year we use the lights from the year before and add a few nets of lights. Well this year we decided for a rebuild on the back half. Apparently, net lights near a muffler doesn’t lead to long listing lights!!!! You would think even though we are Polish we would know that?!?!?!?!

To start we take 4’ x 6’ net lights and pre-stretch them on plywood so they get a memory to hold their shape. Then we have attachment points we have made to the truck to carefully zip tie the lights. Over the years we have changed their locations to get more coverage. I will find some old pics in the comments so you can see the changes over time. Then we just build with layer upon layer. This year we added 12,000 new lights.

Yesterday was a LOOONNNGGGG day and as you can see by our end of the evening celebratory video we were dragging a bit by the end! Special thanks to Heather x 2 and Action Jackson because I never would have gotten it done without their help!

If you are local, look for us at the tree lighting the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Our candy cane inventory will be full and our smiles wide!
