We are thrilled to share that Sam Hart has joined our ACAR Team, bringing 15 years of additional experience to our bays!🛠️

Sam is an Addison County native and lives here in New Haven with his family. He has run his own shop for the past 5 years after working at Goss Dodge for 4 years prior. He has an Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology from Vermont Tech and brings extensive experience and expertise to keep all our Vermont vehicles in tip-top shape.

We have availability in our schedule, and we welcome any of Sam's former customers to reach out to book time with us to care for your vehicle.

One of this week’s cool projects was calibrating the night vision camera on a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee.🌚

Unlike a regular camera, this system uses thermal imaging to detect heat, helping drivers spot pedestrians and large animals farther down the road than the headlights can illuminate.

To calibrate it, we use a heated target plate that creates a thermal image the camera can recognize. You can actually see that heated target in the second photo!

The coolest part? While watching the live image during calibration, we could clearly see people working inside the paint booth even through the paper covering the booth windows. The thermal camera isn’t looking for visible light like our eyes or a normal camera; it’s detecting heat, which makes for a pretty amazing view of what’s happening around the vehicle.
