Some tear downs are just tougher than others.
Had to finish up with a carbide blade on a Sawzall followed by a big hammer and some real persistence.
Lots of clean up and inspection to follow 👍

Now what are you doing and why does the shop smell like vinegar?
Are you dying Easter eggs?
Nope
Just more block prep.

Unbelievable amount of stuff stays stuck in the coolant passages of these almost 50 year old core engines.
We use a special proprietary blend of products and soak the block overnight.
Just check out what’s in the bucket that came out of an already “cleaned” block.

While doing engine block prep cleaning out threaded holes I was asked:
How many holes do you need to do that to?

I responded “just the ones I want to have torque up and hold correctly”

JTL Performance enjoyed a great outing with a great customer last weekend.

Thank you to Dave Newts for the opportunity to put some serious power into the “SapSucker”

The 383 Cubic Inch Stroker had plenty enough power to win a few rounds (including this one against a very stout Diesel) at the Keyes Peak Uphill Truck Drags on an icy limited traction surface.

The success of this project is the result of focusing on what the customer wants their engine to do for their given application.
We then formulate a plan based on experience and testing, not chasing some unobtainable magic numbers.
That’s how we were able to produce 511 ft lbs of real usable tourqe in a street vehicle.
