Just a little vintage Craftsman ratchet and socket set I found at the local antique store. It seems to be all there, ratchet, breaker bar, all are vintage Craftsman except for a couple of sockets that have been replaced by Taiwanese types. The ratchet feels like it has a lot of life left in it. Guess what I paid.

Nice little burnout from a 289 I built for a customer last year. He had two requests. He wanted it to stop smoking and he wanted it to do a burnout. With the original cam and 2V setup, burnouts were not possible. I gave it a bigger cam and 4 bbl (along with other tweaks) and this was the result. Sound up.

The claim is that this tractor makes 300 HP. Doesn't sound like enough to most car guys. "I have a car that makes 450 HP." Ok. I get that. But you'll never pull 44 plows with that car. Maybe they're wrong about that number? Nope. In fact, this steam engine is a more fair comparison of the relationship between the work it can do and the work 300 actual is horses can do. BUT, geared correctly, this tractor would pull all those horses all over this field. The explanation is torque. Steam engines, particularly one this size, have it all over gas engines. Even diesels. The low RPMs and the slow, even expansion of steam makes this kind of work effortless for an old steam tractor. Oftentimes the wheels are driven directly off the engine (without gear reduction). And the engine tops out at only a few hundred RPMs instead of thousands. That's why this steam tractor's quarter mile elapsed time is measured in minutes, not seconds like a 300 HP car.
