I dreaming of a white Christmas in Bozeman, where the green, red and gold bells drape over Main Street in nearly white-out conditions. Where hot cocoa really did keep your hands warm enough to endure just another hour or so of the Bozeman Stroll. Where you’d find any excuse to duck into the Baxter Hotel to warm up just one more time, even if it meant making an unnecessary collect phone call to your best friend, from the lobby telephone booths.

I was in love with Bozeman long before it was popular, long before it was synonymous with Montana. My mother’s people, were the Maxey’s. They were pioneers into the area dating back to the 1800’s, first building a life in a little place called Trail Creek. My mother was a big part of “The Sons & Daughters of the Montana Pioneers”. She made sure my two older brothers and I were born in the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, when it was still on Lamme Street. She made that late-term trek, no matter what city or state my parents were currently residing in, to make certain we three kids were always connected in one more special way. Bozeman has changed but it is still in my heart, locked away forever with the memories of the way it used to be. I’m so blessed there are still folks on this planet who remember Bozeman the way I do, and can still see pockets of it when the green, red and gold bells are lined up over main. (And No, they’re not spiders!)

Session #2 at the gym today, when you just need a Re-do because you were called away from the first go in the morning! And that gave me 18,244 steps total today! Yep, I can live with that. And the loss of 21 pounds since August 2.
