Ok everyone we know Western NC has been hit hard and we found a Little Town that could really use some supplies!!! I’ve copied what they need and how we can help. We are taking trailers up Sunday morning to help in the efforts, if any of you could spare some supplies please feel free to drop them off at the shop anytime during business hours from now till Friday….thanks to each and everyone one of you in advance!!!!

The back part of Barnardsville along Dillingham Rd is devastated. You have to have an ATV to get to the big Ivy community center or anywhere further back. But people have been all the way back to the forest boundary to check on people. Homes have been lost, people are trapped and are in great need of the following:
Prescription meds! Especially insulin, oxygen and migraine meds. Dave and I are working with a Walgreens in Charlotte to get these prescriptions filled and delivered but if you have any influence, experience or insight to share on the matter please leave a comment.
Water, water and more water
Non perishable food
Ice
Coolers
Generators
First aid equipment
The path from 26 West to our exit 15 (Barnardsville/Jupiter) is clear and it’s clear all the way into “downtown” Barnardsville. If you have items to donate and have the means to get out there I know people will be there at noon but likely a little before and after.
I have also been asked how people can help as far as sending money for supplies. Blue Ridge Public radio is an excellent resource for updates on the area and where you can donate. And I will also ask in our meeting tomorrow at noon how you could possibly help the community of Barnardsville directly.
A large group of us gathered at the old firehouse to set up a headquarters of sorts where people can receive first aid, pantry items, water, clothing, toiletries and more. A community meeting is held daily at noon followed by a hot lunch at 1. It’s been so humbling to witness the generosity of spirit as well as donations pooled together from our homes.
If you have a loved one missing in Barnardsville please dm or comment and I can ask about them tomorrow. We learned today that several missing people had been found safe.
