Chances are you’ve called the shop and wanted to talk about a project car and I’ve give. You a quick and unapologetic NO! I’m sure your car is cool and means something but I don’t really want to do it. If you are like dalewickline7 and own an impala the answer is an immediate YES. You see I love the impala and it’s box shapes and when a customer has that perfect barn find kinda vehicle (with a bunch of bad ass drivetrain improvments like a BluePrint Engines and rebuild rear end to be that perfect ratio for a 700r4) and sits as low as can be I get excited. a previous rebuilder gave him no special treatment and dales words were it lasted almost 5 miles. We got into this unit and instantly saw a mess, got his straightened out and shifting and performing correctly. This thing rides like a dream and I hope he likes how the transmission is shifting, also how the lock up wiring is now correctly wired. Rad car. I love Chevy impalas!!! #1962

Man alive we have been busy with gm stuff these past two weeks. My long time friend brought his wife’s Yukon xl into the shop, the major factor is he is also in the automotive industry and owns his own shop. Instead of choosing to buy a stock unit he wanted us to build him a solid unit with legendary billet converter, and our go to combo of parts and valve body parts. Wrap this vehicle up with some custom transmission tuning and this thing should be out the door way longer than stock. Happy to see familiar faces and what a great way to start off the new year. Lesson from last year……don’t tell people you are closing down to start a sloppy Joe castle on April fools. Alex, please come help drink all this beer!

Well well, we got clipped the other day for a slang term to describe our new line of severe duty diesel transmissions so we have to rename it, not sure what it should be yet but I don’t want to get shadow banned for bad behavior. Rarely do we get a customer who doesn’t say I don’t care about towing I have a rooftop tent, I overland and I need to overland at 140mph! Okay okay jeez man let’s slap some big dawg billet stuff inside so you can eat smores on the moon! There is a whole mountain of accessories as far as mishimoto cooler and revmax millet flex plate but I’m waiting on those…..this Allison has broken a record here at the shop though. Thanks to for the rewards points on all these parts purchases, we are headed to Barbados on this one! more like

I swore to myself I would never build another 4t70w for a bronco conversion again…….BUT HERE WE ARE. gets the big billet treatment, a correct torque converter from hard parts and sport yet sophisticated shift kit from , from what my buddy (the hottest rapper alive right now) Dylan says, he bought this bronco with some gremlins, so it’s a great time to work them out.

I’m a little behind on talking about our new local friend and customer he was referred to the shop by another local shop here in molalla which we owe pizza and beers! We got this unit out and found a large amount of metal from the converter which is the usual case for these units. Did some updates to the valve body and converter, built this thing using factory solenoids and bad ass bushings from durabond, and installed the unit. Down the road it went and a fun fact…….. is a big dawg strong man. He didn’t drive it home. He picked it up on his shoulders and walked it back to his place in Oregon city! This guy is a maniac!!!! Happy to help and thanks to his advice I’m taking I CAN GET HARD AGAIN!!!!

Man the 6l80e is a popular unit! Over time the pressure regulator wears out and causes all sorts of issues, too much activity with the converter will created metal to metal situations that will run metal through the pump causing a shudder when the converter is applied. An awesome unit to build especially when paired with a billet torque converter from , I like to mix a little and into these units and finish it off with some tuning from and this unit will be out for years to come. Those new coolers and also something to talk about…..but I don’t want to give away all our secrets.

Nothing like ending the summer with a big dog diesel! Out together our heavy duty option for a 2018 truck that clearly isn’t stock (they never are! I like when these trucks show up on level 28 of their tuner and its dripping raw diesel out of the 10 inch exhaust) this thing rips down the road and going to provide years of hard work for the customer, as well as some tire abuse in a parking lot. I saw a piece of information telling customers why you do something, not what you do. Here at Jacobsen we offer multiple ways to build a transmission and our reason is to provide a more thorough transmission rebuild than other shops. Other shops will get you in the door with a low price where we say right up front we are more expensive, pertaining to the quality of parts, more thorough and have a better warranty. We do this because it builds a longer lasting product. Other shops might leave you hanging or rub you the wrong way once a warranty is needed. I make mistakes and give no excuses when the time comes. We keep all heavy duty items in stock at all times, I would bet we have sold more billet input dodge shafts than anybody locally, as well as keeping and parts in stock. We are dedicated to rebuilding a unit and replacing all consumable parts. That means bushings, thrust bearings, molded pistons, solenoids. Stuff that other shops say is “just fine”. Youre the customer, don’t you want to get what you’re paying for?

It’s been a little time since we’ve built an Allison, they are fun units to build and reliable across the board for all sorts of power and tuning. Most of our customers are sensible and just want a reliable truck to tow their campers and toys, and this is a great unit to do the heavy work for years to come……….god this is like the most adult post I’ve ever done?!?? No smart ass remarks……I feel like I should stop, maybe ready the room??? The frosted side of me says “say something stupid, make fun of the customer, they love abuse!” But the wheaty, sensible side says “shut up Chad everybody is tired of your long winded sh*t”. Well there you have it folks, my dream of sloppy joes and spam fried rice is up in shambles and I’m back to work building transmissions. Almost there everybody, keep up the good work!
