Tip 4 for summer:
Check your other essential fluids
Check oil, brake, power-steering and windshield-washer fluids regularly. These liquids never stop being used and consumed. Also, while you’re checking your brake fluid check in your brakes! Do they feelokay? Are they lacking in precision? Feeling a bit spongy or just plain squeaking? If so, new pads and a system bleed might be required. This is the kind of maintenance you should have your mechanic look at.

Happy Tuesday!
Time for tip #3:
Windshield wipers!
You may be questioning why you would need to check your windshield wipers in summer. However, it is probably going to rain at some point during summer. Worn wipers can create streaks across the windshield and can affect your vision while driving. Especially when your car is dirty from all of those fun summer trips! Replacing them doesn't cost much, but it can be tricky. If you take your car in for oil changes, ask them about the wipers, too. Sometimes they will sell you the wipers and install them for free. Also be sure to fill your windshield wiper fluid so that you can properly clean the dirt and bugs off your windshield on your summer adventures and road trips!

Summer tip 2:
The Engine Belt
There is usually a belt that runs between the alternator, the fan and many other components. It can deteriorate, become loose, crack, and sometimes break for no reason especially in the heat of summer. It needs to be in good condition and have the proper amount of tension. If you see cracks in the belt or small pieces missing, it's time to replace the belt.

Summer is officially upon us! Want to know how to keep your car ready for summer? We have 10 tips for you.
Here is tip number 1: The Coolant System

Staying cool in the summer is so important not only for us but also for our cars. As humans our body cools itself with sweat, for a car this is what the coolant system does. First things first, make sure you check the level of your coolant fluid so that your car does not overheat. Also open the hood and take a look at the hoses and coolant reservoir. What you want to look for is any leaks especially where hoses connect for example to the coolant reservoir. When you are checking make sure the car has cooled off as to not burn yourself! Also take a look at the hoses themselves. They shouldn’t be squishy or soft or buldging like in the photo shown below but more firm and uniform in shape.
Stay tuned for tip 2 on Sunday!
