With our 2022 complete and today being November 1st we want to do something a little different and see if there would be interest in an idea we have been throwing around. A lot of people don’t know but November is diabetes awareness month. Why’s this special to us you ask? Our 11 year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 3 years old. Many people know very little about type 1 diabetes until it affects their lives, we were until it became our reality. Throughout November we will post personal struggles, experiences, facts, etc. to help everyone learn something new about type 1 diabetes and our journey. That being said our idea is to do a raffle for diabetes awareness month. The prize will be a door from the #78 which if you haven’t looked closely includes a type 1 diabetes awareness ribbon in the number specifically for our son Cameron. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help find a cure! Donations are also welcome! Winner of the door will have the option to keep it, or donate it to one of many foundations we’ve personally dealt with! Or if anyone knows if a race loving type 1 diabetic we could look at the door being donated to them also. It will be winners choice! We will allow our son to pick a random number from the raffle numbers (he will not be aware of what spot belongs to who) for the door, & also allow baby sister to pick another random number and that winner will receive a small gift on behalf of our family! That being said if there is anyone interested in this please let us know before we decide 100% to make this happen! Our idea is 100 spots at $10 a spot which would allow us to donate $1000 to jdrf at the end of November💙 Below is a door picture so that the ribbon can be seen.

If you or anyone you know is concerned about type 1 diabetes or just wants to learn here are a few facts: 1. Type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle 2. Type 1 diabetes is not preventable or reversible. 3. There is no cure. 4. Type 1 diabetes can occur at any age including infancy. 5. Type 1 diabetes requires insulin dependency for life.
Symptoms include:
1. Extreme thirst 2. Sudden changes in vision 3. Frequent urination 4. Fruity smelling breath 5. Lethargy 6. Weight loss 7. Increased appetite 8.nausea or vomiting 9. Heavy/labored breathing 10. Issues recovering from simple illnesses

Just want to take a second to thank everybody for the help with the 78 all weekend. Friday night I couldn't get a feel for the car at all in the practice sessions, bounced off the wall 2 times, and spun out 2 times. Went to go out to qualify the first round and lost the starter, we had to push it off, then on top of that the tps sensor decided to start acting goofy and made it almost impossible to keep the car running. We regrouped Saturday and fixed all the problems and also changed just about everything on the car. Track was wet in round 2 qualifying so I took it a little easy and went 27th quick out of 42. We had to start 11th in a B main, got shuffled to 14th on a restart and could only make it back to 7th. The top 5 went to the feature. We missed the big race by 2 spots. Not a horrible weekend with the big guys, just not my best. The car is home and still in one piece and I was able to learn alot more behind the wheel. See yall soon! Weekend race recap. Friday night Josh Childers Racing took the 78 to Moulton Speedway -The Family Track and parked her in victory lane! Tonight Alex McQueen Motorsports headed to Talladega Short Track and finished 3rd in our heat which put us starting 5th for the feature. It was a good clean race and the car did exactly what it was supposed to do. We brought home a 3rd finish, with this being Alex’s first time back in the car since Ice Bowl. Looking forward to the SCDRA race coming up at talladega in a couple weeks! Thanks to all our sponsors The Eaton Clinic. Montgomery computer service. Southern cut performance. Jason Waters Tuning. Baileys alternator and starters. & Childers built racecars. None of this would be possible without everyone’s continued support.

Wish we was able to get some victory lane pics but I guess that's how it is sometimes! I gotta say thank you to Josh Childers for taking the car and making sure it was good after a motor swap since I was in Tennessee, you drove a good race man. Thank you to all the fans and people who support me, my wife Alaina Denise McQueen for always telling me she's the biggest fan and supporter I will have. Shout out to Bryan Armbrust for going with him and helping him out last night and keep me updated with everything. None of this would be possible without these people.
