Most people still say, “Just get a 12 gauge and call it good for home defense.”

But after this test, I’m not convinced that’s always the right answer.

I built a real 2x4 interior wall with drywall and plywood, then shot it side-by-side with a .410 and a 12 gauge. We ran slugs, Hornady Critical Defense 410, Wi******er Defender, and more to see what actually happens when those rounds hit real building materials.
