My Laguna Seca Spec Miata race was another success! ๐The biggest highlight to me is finding consistency in a highly competitive field - out of 50 cars, I finished P16 in quali, P22 in race 1, P18 in race 2, and P20 in race 3. Yes, I still have a long way to go before making it to the front row (hopefully not never... haha), and you might think itโs silly, but this is my first ever race weekend that I DID NOT CRY. I didnโt feel the need to.
Feeling emotional is not a bad thing; in fact, Iโve always embraced it because it showed that I care. However, in racing, a lot of the emotions I had stemmed from not knowing what to do in the situations - flying off the track, having incidents, etc. But ever since the last Thunderhill race, things started to click. Iโm thinking faster and opening up my senses. I focus on what I can control. I spend more time on getting physically fit and sim training. The result - a race weekend with 0 incident, 0 off in the race, and a happy racer excited for more!
Before the next race, Iโm going to keep the momentum strong and practice even more despite already having a crazy schedule in life haha. Stay tuned!!
