well i finished that truck repair. Now the customer asked me to fix his 1957 ford ranchero gas tank problem it was full of dark rust on the inside no way to fix it have to get another one he buys a after market one (bob drake) is the name its zinc painted on the inside and outside looks good right away i noticed it had different dimensions he says put it on. So i do it does not fit right.it needs a spacer on the passenger side or it will fit lopsided. to low on the driver side to high on the passenger side so i make adjustments it takes me a full day to get it right. it comes out nice i hook up the sending unit check if the gas gauge works no reading on the gauge i look around the gas tank everything looks good then it hits me the tank is painted on the inside and outside there is no way to ground the tank so i scratch some paint off hook up a ground wire its good. but still no reading from the gauge mmmmm i think about it for a few seconds i check the sending unit which is new.do an ohms test the body is not grounding correctly take it out i examine it its made in china (cheap metal ) so i tell the customer buy a better one he does not want to buy it so i continue with the repair i turn the car on it runs like five minutes then dies i check the gas in the carb no gas getting to the engine open the gas lines the filter is clogged with rust pieces i clean it out and tell him the gas line needs to be replaced he says do it it takes me a full day in the hot sun temp that day (98*f) to bend the piping and install it it looks good. i start the car it runs like 15 minutes then it sputters and dies i say wtf is it now so i check the temp of the car it reads 210 degrees on the motor i let it cool and them i tell him when you installed that 351 motor from that 292 you did not upgrade the cooling system so the engine runs hot and it vapors locks the gas line it will always die on you in traffic he says what do i need to do i tell him get and electric fan and it will run better he says when i get more money, so now i will wait for his phone call Till next time cya later everyone

sorry for not posting.. well let me tell you who showed up at my door yesterday the guy who i did the honda vtech motor swap in. well karma a bitch he failed to pay my bill in full and now he comes to me seeing if i want to buy the honda accord from him. I ask him why he wants to sell it to me. his reply I got rear ended in it. so i ask him how much for it do you want. he answers 1500 dollars. in my head i laugh this is too funny. he burns me on payment now he wants 1500 dollars for a broke car yeah right. he goes on telling me my insurance will only give me 500 dollars for the car. i said why he says it has a salvage title. anyone knows here in the good ole united states of america salvage title means 500 dollars for a unfixble wreck. I tell him ill let him know hehe when hell freezes over. gotta love karma

so the customer that has the accord wants a valve adjustment for free, yeah right. this all started because i gave him a valve adjustment for free when he took his car from my shop. to show him everything was done right. now that his been driving it its making valve noise. i told him thats normal your breaking the engine in. now he wants it done again thats fine but its gonna cost him some money. again he does not want to pay.with customers like this ill go broke. never trust your friends when your work is involved. I loose a customer to me no big deal.NEXT!!!!!
