Couple weeks ago, I had a old customer from the shop I use to work for, come through town and had a wheel seal blow out after brakes were just put on. Due to the rotors and hubs being one bolted assembly, to change the rotors, you have to remove the hub. The nut wasn't properly torqued down so it loosened up and caused a wheel seal leak.
Thankfully for him, he caught it early and called me before it did more damage. I don't go out for pickup work anymore but due to the client and what he was hauling and the escorts he had with him, I came out to get him back going before his restricted hours came.
New bearings and races, wheel seal, and degreasing, and checked the other side for proper torque, he was back on the road to California.
PS. Oil bath bearings do not get grease.
