“Every Mile for Hereditary Cancer” begins Friday at The Mint 400
(March 2, Las Vegas, NV) Following NASA Great Lakes region’s announcement that FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered will be its preferred charity in 2020, its mission of raising awareness “One Track at a Time” will reach beyond the Midwestern paved road racing circuits and into the Nevada desert this weekend. Three-time Thunder Roadster Series Champion and NASA Great Lakes competition school instructor, Brian Bohlander, will race a Zero1 Off Road Spec Class 5500 buggy in The Mint 400 to raise awareness for hereditary cancer and FORCE.
The ‘Great American Off-Road Race’ is the most prestigious off-road racing event in America with a rich history of amateur and professional racers aiming to conquer the Nevada desert. Bohlander will use his participation as one of the team drivers in the class 5500 buggy to raise awareness for hereditary cancer. The team encourages fans to support the “Every Mile for Hereditary Cancer” effort by supporting FORCE with a donation for every mile buggy number 5503 completes in the race. The Mint 400’s grueling 428-mile race is a battle to finish, but it’s nowhere near the battle that cancer patients and their families fight daily.
“Cancer affects too many of our friends and family members. To raise awareness and support continued research, I’ll be including the names of friends and family members on my helmet who’ve been affected by a hereditary cancer,” Bohlander states. “This is a great opportunity to educate fans that there are testing options available that identify these cancer-causing genes while precautions can be made to reduce the risk of developing cancer. With continued research, someday there may be a cure so that my daughters’ generation may not have to face hereditary cancer.”
The race begins Friday, March 6th at 12:30PM Pacific time and fans can follow the action live at themint400.com. To make an immediate impact to FORCE by supporting “Every Mile for Hereditary Cancer,” a donation link is available at brianbohlander.com.
