WGTC is helping graduating seniors take their next step with our Manufacturing & Automation Systems Summer Camp!

From June 1–26, students will gain hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, and automation systems while building and racing their own dune buggy. Participants will also earn OSHA 10 and forklift certifications, develop real-world skills, and connect with local employers.

THE RESULTS ARE IN 🏁

Gardner Newman Middle School brings home a 2nd Place National Championship title in the Greenpower_USA Intermediate Stock Division!

I’m so incredibly proud of every one of these students. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance showed all weekend long.

These teams put in countless hours preparing for this moment, and seeing that work pay off on the national stage has been incredible.

Before lunch today I got to spend an hour with the 6th grade team from Cougar Strong Racing at Long Cane Middle School, helping to prepare them for their live interviews at the National Championship at Talladega next weekend. After school today I got to spend a few hours with the 6th & 7th grade team from GNMS Racing at Gardner Newman Middle School. We are working hard to maximize their team presentation scores. This group was impressive - especially Seojung Lee, along with Jakob King, Steven Black, Tricen Quattrociocchi. The Troup County School System is going to be so well represented at Talladega Superspeedway next weekend! Let’s bring home some trophies!! 🏆 🏁💯🔋

These students have worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks.

Between GMAS prep and testing, major repairs to nearly every car, preparing for in-person interviews (this is new), after-school practices, and other extracurriculars… they’ve been balancing a lot.

And they’ve handled it so well!

It’s all leading up to the National Championship at DEGA NEXT WEEKEND.

Proud of this group and the work they’ve put in. Mustangs, let’s go finish strong.
