Had a productive weekend. I moved the rearend from under the leaf springs to on top, c channeled the frame and got the engine mounts and transmission crossmember made and bolted down. Now I'm at the point where I have to spend a little money to mock up the fuel system and rear shock mounts. Definitely sits better and is coming along tho.

Today I borrowed my neighbor's tractor and got the cab back on the chassis. Got it back inside and bolted down. Got the engine and transmission bolted together and ready to mock up next weekend. Definitely making progress.

This weekend's progress, I was able to get the mustang II crossmember fitted and welded in. I do still have a little more to finish welding since I ran out of gas but I'm happy with the progress. On it's way to being a hot rod!

Yesterday I ground off the rivots and removed all the unneeded brackets, front suspension mounts, and transmission crossmember. Next up, getting the crossmember for the Mustang II front suspension welded in. Should be a roller in no time.

So a little over 2 years ago I bought this 1965 Dodge Coronet. Now I'm sure your saying to yourself. " Fonzy, what in the world are you going to do with that steaming pile of hot garbage?" Well, I'm glad you asked. My plan is to build a straight axle body over chassis gasser. I've been collecting parts for this since and I finally pulled it out of the shed in the middle of August and spent some weekends in September stripping it down. I saved everything from the front clip I need to make the flip front-end and cut off the front end of the car. Which didn't take much since the car is really that rotten. Lifted the body up and cut out the rearend which like the front end didn't take much persuasion. I made a wood frame cart with pneumatic casters to move the body around the yard and finally have it in the tree line waiting to get mated to the chassis that's currently under the parts 1957 Chevy sitting next to it. Am I crazy? Probably..... but should be cool once it starts coming together.
