The Kent State Construction Management program began in 2007 and has grown exponentially from our first graduating class of 12 students. There are now over 240+ students in the major and over 100 members of the Construction Management Student Organization. The Organization participates in CMAA as well as MCAA, NAHB ASC, ABC, CSI, and Habitat for Humanity. Each Fall, our CM Organization logs over 2

000 hours working for Habitat for Humanity of Portage County, Canton/Stark County and Greater New Orleans area. The organization also participates in Relay for Life and Adopt-A-Highway where students clean up a two-mile stretch of highway 261 in Kent at least twice a year. The Kent State Construction Management Student organization has been nationally recognized by the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) as one of the most promising new chapters in the country. We have competed in the Mechanical Contractors Association competition for the past eight years. For the 2016-2017 school year the CM Organization students competed in the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Competition in Dallas, TX, the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Competition in Chicago, IL, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Competition in Orlando, FL and the UC New Builders Competition in Cincinnati, OH. Fourteen student members who participated in 40 or more hours of community service projects were honored by Kent State at Making a Difference! Recognizing Kent Staters Who Care awards ceremony. The Construction Management Student Organization received the award for the "Most Volunteer Hours by a Student Organization". Two students were also honored as Student Volunteers of the Year for their grade level. The Construction Management Organization continues to grow and has a well-structured student government system that includes 10 officers, President, 2 Vice President's, Treasurer and Networking Chair along with numerous other chair positions. This page was created for Kent Sate undergraduate students, alumni, and faculty to stay in touch and network job opportunities, education, and projects either completed or in progress. Many of our graduates are scattered throughout the world and this would be a great way of hearing about those accomplishments, and to provide an alternate resource for locating alumni that may have leads or information in the field of construction. Although, this is primarily aimed toward Kent State grads and undergrads, those who are interested in the field or graduates from other colleges are welcome and encouraged to join.

The Operation Open Doors Project was created to help foster and serve wounded service members. We are so proud of our students that helped build and give back to an officer in our area by making his house more accessible. Here are a few pictures of our students building a wheelchair ramp to help this neighborhood hero!

Congratulations go out to one of our Professors Joe Karpinski for winning the outstanding Teaching Award on Friday. This is a pretty high honor at Kent State. As all of his students will tell you this award was well deserved; Professor Karpinski is very dedicated to us both for our education and our careers. Thanks you and congratulations!
