Dead Classic Cars of New York City

Dead Classic Cars of New York City Old classic cars that have been driven, used, and finally left for dead. Often, they have been off the road for many decades. (All pics are taken by me.

These cars are usually found in rural areas, but right here in NYC there are many examples. If they could only tell their tales.. You are free to use any, just please give me and the page credit.) My name is Steven Gallo, and this page combines my love and fascination of classic cars, with the same for abandoned junkers left for dead and forgotten. These dead cars are usually found in rural areas,

what we city folk refer to as "the country" and coming across them has always been a favorite part of my traveling. However, in New York City you wouldn't normally think of cars like this, but they are indeed here, often hidden to the side, dead and forgotten. There's something awesome about an old dead car, that once had in it families, lovers....if they could talk, the tales they can tell. Thanks for visiting and please "like" the page :)

Hi all, I know it's been a while, but will start posting regularly again with some decent finds. Breaking the rules again with a vehicle outside of NYC, I spotted this one in the Bovina area (if I remember correctly) in the Catskills of upstate NY, a very dead 1950 Crosley for sale. Totally rusted in and out, I imagine these are pretty rare, heck if you are interested give the seller a call (oddly enough, that's a Long Island number).

Lots of auto repair shops often have old cars outside as decor, and in Kensington Brooklyn, one uses this beautiful but completely gutted classic Ford. It's usually on the sidewalk, but this time I caught it in its parking space they roll it in when the shop is closed.

Here's a great find in the Vinegar Hill section of Brooklyn. This area is right near the water, across from Manhattan, very close to the famed bridges, and has some unpaved cobblestone streets, straight out of the past. Hidden behind a fence on a lonely street, this looks like an early 70's Chrysler, which has been dead for Lord knows how long. Stay tuned though - early this week, you will see a truly amazing find which lingers right around the corner.

Hi everyone, been a long time since I've posted, but will make up for the time starting today with some great dead classic finds. We'll start off with this Ford LTD Brougham ('71? '72?) adding some flavor to the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant. It's great when these beautiful beasts are in full view and easy to see.

When you're in Brooklyn, there's always a dead classic Caddy or two nearby - this one is on the street, 39th street to be exact, near Ft. Hamilton Pkwy.

Caught these two fenced in between two buildings off Flushing Ave in Bushwick, Brooklyn - another classic Mustang not used in Lord knows how long, and the older one I'm not sure of. It's a blast coming across hidden gems like these, especially a two-for-one shot.

Old Dodge RAM truck around 30 years old laying to rot in the Sunset Park industrial section of Brooklyn. While still pretty busy, this area has a lot of abandoned old factories, unpaved roads and ancient railroad tracks. Last time the truck was on the road according to window sticker was 2004.

Walking along in Brooklyn's Bed-Stuy 'hood today, I came across this beautiful Mustang missing half its body, which happened to be placed on top of a shed right off the street. I know parking is rough sometimes around here....you never know what interesting and curious Dead Classic Car sights will turn up next.

Came across this beauty on 39th St. at the south corner of Ft. Hamilton Pkwy in Brooklyn, 1972 Chevelle? Lots of junk inside, and an old inspection sticker has a 2001 date. It's right next to a very small auto repair garage, maybe someone is looking to revive. If you check out that location on Google street view, you can see a few nice oldies parked on the road in front that appear there from time to time.

Haven't posted in a while, will make up starting with this monster, less than a mile from where I live but I just noticed it the other day - Kensington, Brooklyn, very dead classic beaten up and trashed in a fenced-in lot on 18th ave that used to rent cars. Having a bit of trouble nailing it, '59-'60? Chevy? Lonely spring ahead for this one.

Not exactly abandoned anymore, but still cool - took this pic before the current snow, at the restoration lot on 3d ave in Brooklyn. Two gutted classics, Chevy Malibu and Dodge Challenger, they've been out there for a while now, hopefully they'll be worked on and raised from the dead in time for summer. Also - right before the snowstorm, I discovered a truly amazing find on a scarce street near the East River, when the snow melts I'll take a pic of that one and post.
