PSA to have your brakes checked!

This customer went 110K miles before his brakes ran all the way down to the backing plate, now instead of just purchasing rear brakes, he had to purchase new calipers too.

This used to be a lug nut. Most of the time we overlook little details like making sure to check lug nuts to make sure they aren’t swelling or cracking due to weather shifts. Luckily this one was able to be removed and replaced. Go check your lugs!

For those of you driving first gen Chevrolet Cruzes, the negative battery cable can go bad around 120-125K miles and will trip the StabiliTrak/ABS system and mess with your radio as well. All it needs is a replacement cable. Make sure to get the extra screw for the starter/alternator cable as well!

Quick Tip: When getting into the industry changing oil, you will mostly use the 10, 13, 14, 15 and 17 MM sockets for the oil drain plugs. With very few exceptions I keep these sockets in my oil catch barrel to quickly interchange for different cars.

When changing spark plugs, always remember to double check the gap on the plugs. Just changed spark plugs on a Chrysler 200 V6 and 2 out of the 6 spark plugs were incorrectly gapped and might not have worked properly if they were installed that way.
