Goals for 2018
1. Get shop space near home.
2. Trade Hayabusa engine for 1000cc gsxr engine.
3. Install new engine, ecu, wiring, drysump ect...
4. Do lots of laps with Global Time Attack in Pro Comp, a few at Laguna Seca, and maybe some other fun event that the car will fit into.

Start work on HoverCar2.0....

The Hayabusa Engine finally came in! Looking forward to making this thing work.

Had an awesome day at Buttonwillow on the 15th and learned alot about the car. After getting the brake bias dialed in and driving closer to the limit it has really woken up. I got it sideways a few times to try and feel the car out and it was surprisingly easy to control. Its so nice learning with a properly setup car even if it sat for a few years.

The plan for the next event is to replace all of the fasteners/hardware and install new seat belts. Probably also would not hurt to run a more appropriate sprocket ratio for the track(gearing was to short for CW14).

Engine has been sourced! Should ship shortly after Christmas due to my travels back to Indy.

Lots of work left to do before i can fit this. Since this car is the go kart equivalent of a SAAB i can't just drop something this large or torquey in without lots of modification. Lots of pictures to come showing the progress.

I'm curious if anyone could recommend a place in So Cal to pick up a Gen1 Hayabusa engine. Trying to get the car ready for Pikes Peak this summer and I don't think the current engine is up to the task.

Had a great day testing at Buttonwillow. Ran config 1CCW which isnt 13CW so it was new to me. Car has ALOT of grip and it is going to take some serious track time to get comfortable. There are lots of little changes i need to do so i can safely run quicker.

I did go off and im pretty sure its due to my fronts locking up way to early. Adjusting the bias on the fly will take some getting use to. The slide carbs either need to be cleaned , tuned or thrown in the trash lol. It makes alot of power about 25% of the time. WOT never resulted in any good. Other issue was the shifting mechanism. I never knew if it was going to shift.

This thing is so crazy to drive with the slick body and downforce. So wierd driving something that gets more grip with speed.

This is why I was unable to test on Oct. 9th. Luckily they leaked enough for me to call it off before i got there. The bladders just fell apart as i removed them from the cell.

I dont think the patch kits I ordered are going to cut it.

Next test is Nov 6th at Buttonwillow.

Ed "Shiftless"Dickinson started this car from a Nova F440 (now F500) chassis. He modified it for his engine and sports racer bodywork and created the Nova Cat chassis. That car used a 800cc ZRT Arctic Cat snowmobile engine.
