We ran down to San Diego to drop off our shocks to be rebuilt before our next rally. We were fortunate enough to have Kyler at the Bilstein give us a tour of the building and show us a little bit of what Bilstein does for their racers behind the scenes. As well as show us the whole production line and how shocks are built from start to finish.

We were out there dominating, but unfortunately our Terra Trophy 48 hours of Kentucky weekend ended with a DNF.

We absolutely crushed both days, but a momentary mistake cost us. We exceeded the rally course speed limit by 1.2 mph, which is an automatic DNF for safety reasons. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but rules are rules.

The good news? The Jeep performed great, the team performed great, and we learned from it. We’ve already taken several steps to make sure it never happens again so we can keep pushing the pace right to the limit without crossing it.

To solve the issue, we’re upgrading our setup with more PCI Race Radios equipment and having our tuner install an adjustable fuel cutout that can be set to the specific speed limit of each course. That way we can run right at the limit, maximize our pace, and never worry about creeping over by a mile per hour again.

That’s racing. You take the hits, learn from them, and come back stronger.
